uber quick Mclaren, much more competitive Mercedes, quick Red Bull. No idea what Ferrari are up to but there's been some moments here and there.

Leclerc just spun it on the final turn.

Sainz is currently at the top of the sheets with a lap time 2 tenth from last year's pole, not bad Williams

Was fully prepared to make fun of AM and Haas for bringing inters and wets to test, but it’s now raining so instead… who is their psychic/strategist?

Lawson's PM long run stints(day 2) show very little signs of tire degradation. That was on the C2 and C1 tire.

This is fun to watch to kill time but it holds absolutely no meaning or hope for me.

I just don’t believe anyone is showing their cards till Australia.

We knew an awful lot from testing last year. With the test being just 3 days they can't really hide it all until the last minute. Long run pace testing is where we learn the most, and we knew that Red Bull was a rocket and had a very good idea of the pecking order.

There's not much between any of the top teams right now but long runs showing Mercedes and Mclaren are quickest. Red Bull/Ferrari off a couple tenths but tough to tell

Russell's stint 2 below, but on C3 tires. Bit quicker pace but that's down to tires. That Merc is quick. Antonelli's stint 1 times this morning were impressive as well

They have 15 days after tomorrow before Prac 1 in Australia. They will show their hands more tomorrow and will only have 2 sessions to test any changes before Prac 3 and then Qualy. If you are still testing an update in Prac 3 then you are lost.

This circuit in Bahrain offers any type of test with high/low speed and fast straights. They know already whats working and what is not. They can refine something and offer smaller updates in Melbourne. Major upgrades take a month or more. Tomorrow will be a good test of reality for a few teams.

Weather is better tomorrow but with the same wind and 19C with mixed sun/clouds. Mercedes has to hope they are not doing well only due to temps being cooler. They were the worst in the heat last year.

I don't buy Merc being "quick". But if Ferrari would have managed to drop behind them during winter; I'd recommend everyone in Maranello to pack the bags and call off the season. Anything but being the fastest or inside 2 tenths of the fastest, is an embarassement.

Given both did full race runs, they should have comparable fuel. Engine modes who knows. One would expect both to push at a proper race pace to work the tires.
They were both in the PM, so I would assume similar track conditions.

    McLaren might be significantly faster.

Mclaren was a good bit quicker even on the harder C1 tires during the second stint, while Ferrari went with C2 tires for their second stint.

Ferrari need to get to work and figure this car out

    So far it's Mclaren,
    Mercedes/Red Bull,
    Ferrari

Antonelli's stint may not be totally accurate as I believe it was in the morning, but it doesn't matter much, that Mclaren is fast

McLaren was faster on the C2 compared to C1, maybe running light? If you look at Norris pit stop changing from C1 to C2 it was only 4 seconds. Both of Charles stops were almost 2 minutes, wondering if they add more fuel and did heavier runs?

Charles had quicker pit stops than Lando. Besides, you would have to bring the car into the garage to refuel.
