Hi, I had my F1 pump repaired while my new pump from ricambi arrives. I installed and the first time I connected it and opened the door it primed just fine, I used the car and it shifts perfectly. I got home and parked without any problems, this morning I go to open the door and check the car and it will not prime the pump, I put in the key and it primes for about a second or two and then it stops. the car is working just fine but I dont understand why it stopped priming while openning the door.

    Any Ideas???

    Thank You...

By the way, when I ordered the new pump I also ordered a new relay and the relay should arrive tomorrow morning.

    Carlos,

This may be not unusual at all, because the pump starts priming only when the pressure drops below 42 bar and stols when it exceeds 60 bar (reference: Ferrari 360F1 Gearbox manual, section D6.10 System Functions). If you exit the car after driving into the garage and close the door, wait for 2 minutes, open the door, but dont hear the pump priming sound, this means that your hydraulic system is functioning well and does not lose pressure. Wait 10-15 minutes and it should prime again.

    Cheers.

Juri, I bought this kit about 2 months ago but barely installed it yesterday on the repaired pump, tomorrow i will try the new relay and see what happens, if it comes to it I will use the new pump instead, I already bought it anyway...

Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost you to repair the old pump and how exactly was it repaired (rewound?).

I installed the F1 pump from Ricambi as well as the heat sink. I'm now looking forward to the Florida summer as peace of mind is a Beautiful thing and if it truly does lower the operating temperature by 34deg. That'll be great!
