I know there is a racing thread - this is for Gil's benefit. Qualifying is live on formula1.com at 4.00pm Brisbane time. How many Ferrari's on Poll today????
"allegedly" hope you haven't jinxed us and we do qualify 3rd !!! We need a win Just took the qv for a long drive Jon and as long as the fuel cap is off the car is fine, ...well better than fine, it's fantastic !! the mid-range pull on these cars is so much better than the gt4 I can now see why it looked like you had a V12 shoe-horned in on the track as you went past..... nearly got me caught out by the HWP at Sanctuary Cove
I drove Horse to work and back yesterday and it was fine and with less than 1/4 of a tank of fuel. Hopefully Mark has fixed it for good, next week end will tell. Should have an idea where Shumi will grid up from the final practice that is on right now.
i walked along part of the track on the way to the swimming on Thursday night (the night libby fooked up and the spunk stehanie creamed em). nice track, all i saw was blue Melb 2006 signage, me thinks they need a different sponsor for the GP!
Just reading that 4 drivers have the engine penalty in place. Schumacher, Massa, Coulthard and Barrichello. Nasty for the Scuderia - both with penalties ***edit*** make that 5, as Ralf just popped the TF106
The 1 engine 2 race rule is one of the dumbest rules ever invented. No qualifying on Syd TV, and the race isnt live... hooray for Ch10. The best thing about last weeks coverage was no Bill Woods
It would be nice if none of the races had Australian commentary. Also, I want to see the ITV Martin Brundle pre-race gridwalks...
I wish they would get AJ as Brundle and wanker give me the sh!ts AJ still knows more about what is going on than Brundle and dickhead plus he was twice the driver Brundle ever was
Actually I think we are the only country in the world that doesnt get the pre race grid walk(WHICH SUXS!!!). When I was in Spain afew years back they had the Italian, German and Spainish channels(at the hotel) for the F1 all of them had the pre-race walk, with their own reporters. I think that was the 1st time I heard Schumie talk Italian haha. Also they would have a proper F1 show 1hr before the race discussing everything about everything F1 and a livea feed to the supports at Marenello. I dont mind Brundle, he does seem to talk himself up abit but atleast he isnt selling his trophies off. Bill Woods rambles on about crap I dont think anyone cares about. Neil atleast knows about racing but get rid of that damn notebook!!! haha. Another thing annoying about the Ch10 coverage was in the press conference they would always cut it short b4 they finished answering questions(in english).
I don't know if I could sit through 2hrs of AJ mispronouncing every single driver's name. I have a few tapes of old races commentated by him and they are truly awful. Shoe marrrr karrr Rake O nen Coool Tard Bari CHello Villa Noove
actually cool tard is pronounced "ree tard" and AJ knows far more about what is happening to the cars than dickhead Brundle ever will ... hard to believe he ever drove an F1 car the only saving grace for Brundle is that James Allen is a bigger wanker I think we'd all like Murray Walker back, even if he gets everything screwed up, he is a real enthusiast and loves the sport without being pretentious, something MB should try to learn
AJ's big problem? he won't let anyone else drive the bloody A1GP car...... Christian ain't worth a pinch of **** as a driver......
Was reading he is with Honda Team this year... He was and still is the best. His mistakes while in the heat of the moment was what made it special. The pain in his voice when DC hit the pit entrance in Adel still rings in my head haha.
What makes you say this? While Brundle may not have won any championships, or even races (he did come second back in '92 I think), he was an F1 driver up until the end of '96. He's also driven in LeMans and a few F1 cars since (e.g. Schumi's F1-2000 at Donington, and the Jaguar F1 car in London in 2004). Jones wouldn't even fit in a modern F1 car. Jones' heyday was back in the late 70's / early 80's. I hardly see how his knowledge is any more relevant than Brundle's.
Yeah, JM, I'm surprised you think that of Brundle... I reckon he's pretty good... and he does "handle" cool turd, so he does KNOW whats going on.... And AJ is just plain dreadful... SO stuck in the past, and can barely utter a sentence with correct pronunciation or without a reference to his days at Williams!!.. I'm really surprised our opinions of these two differ so much. James Allen, is a total tool though. Muddly Talker is STILL better then he WILL EVER BE!
well Phil you mustn't have seen the old channel 9 days when AJ would comment after the ad break and have a far better idea of what was happening to the car and why an accident occured tha nwhat Brundle would speculate about. Brundle is such an "I am" type of person while AJ did make it as a world champion against some really tough competition in a POS that HE made go fast, even PH admitted as much . Brundle is third rate and never amounted to anything, at least when Hunt the Shunt was with Murray he would be funny on his lucid days, MB is as funny as chewing nails, and is so often wrong with the strategies it's embarrassing. Why do you consider MB credible ? like Ferrari or MS would tell him anything
