hey..i was really thinkin...today, is formula one all about racing or politics? compare f1 today, to mebbe 5 yrs, or even 10 yrs back..was there actually politic influence in the sport? i don't think so.. i mean, the new rules set by the FIA sucks...imagine, without the new rules, the farce in the US could have been prevented with pitstops, where tyre changes are allowed, just like the previous seasons. now, to be honest, i think, in bid to slow down Ferrari and michael schumacher, FiA introducced these stupid new rules, saying they were cost cutting measurements. i mean, they tried everything, 2 engibe per weekend, no tyre changes during pitstops, 2.4 litres v8 next year. but there's only one question, why didn't the FIA think about all these 10-15 years ago? why only now? why only when schumi has won 2000-2004 championships in a row...are the FiA practically using the excuse of 'cost cutting' to slow ferrari n schumi down? i really think so. they also clamied that with these new rules, they will bring the back markers on almost same level as the front runners. i doubt it will ever work. wat have we here today? there's actually only mclaren who has the pace..renault, their speed is useless, it's just that the car is reliable...my point is, why is the FiA thinking about cost cutting only now, not 10 yrs back? is it really cost cutting or to slow ferrari and schumi's dominance in f1?

No policitics in F-1 10-15 years ago?

I might suggest picking up some reading material on the subject to get yourself up to speed.

Darn. You beat me to the post.

F1 has always been full of politics and rules have always changed over the years. E.g. the book "50 Years of F1" shows how the series changed engine specs around to include/exclude manufacturers right in the very first few years with the effect that during some years F2 cars made the field.

Get that idea of the FIA being against MS or S/F out of your system.

BTW: If you use that "Return" key (or "Enter" key) on the right side of your keyboard once in a while, your texts become a lot more readable. Although they maintain a striking similarity to your last thread "blame FIA". Careful my friend.

You might be surprised. The "formula" in F1 changes all the time. There were 1.5 liter turbo cars, 3.0 liter v8s etc etc. The only constant in F1 is change.

And every time there is a formula change in F-1, the cry always goes out, "This will be the end of F-1".
