Just saw 1st 5 minutes of F1 Rocks Singapore. What the hell?
Lindsay Lohan introduces members of No Doubt racing RC cars with Adrian Sutil. This is totally cool dude!
Andrew, sorry to hear that. I guess Lindsay has taken time out of her new career (jumping out of cakes, topless, at stag parties) to emcee this show. To me, it evokes the essence of F1 in its heyday, think Fangio, Ascari and others who rocked the world. Lindsay just introduced a clip of Beyonce singing something.
Porsche commercial. Lindsay - the dress is a mini! - says goodbye from "the nonstop party that is F1 Rocks!" Lindsay introduces No Doubt. Clips. ZZ Top performs Gimme All Your Lovin. More clips. Jack Osbourne, I think, drifting. Race clips. Performance montage, don't know who all those people are. Oh, there are the Black Eyed Peas. Somebody yells "F1 Rocks." Beyonce says "F1 Rocks."
It's over, the voice-over growls: "Look out for more F1 Rocks events next year." Now, practice 2. Sure to be a let down after F1 Rocks.
To call it cheesey and beneath the dignity of the sport of F1 would be generous. I recorded it along with Practice and ended up fast forwarding through a big part of it. I've never actually seen the revered Black Eyed Peas perform a live "show" before. Funny how the 30-something multi-millionaire woman Fergie acts as if she's got some street cred and is maybe in a gang or somethin'. Even she must feel silly by now with her act, but the gig pays well......... Amazing how cheerful (and sober) Lindsay looked........I wonder if she thinks the Indy 500 is a F1 race........or even Le Mans, if she's ever heard of it.
No, somehow I missed it and I've already recorded over it. Oh well. I saw the bands play, Jack Osbourne drift and No Doubt play with remote control cars. And the plug by the celebs informing me that "F1 Rocks". I think that was enough.
Reminds me of the lady Windsor interviewed (I think at Silverstone) when he asked what driver she wanted to win. She simply replied, "ENGLAND!" So he asked (paraphrasing) "ya, but what driver?" She then replied again, "England!" I think she was a musician, I didn't recognize her at all.
I watched it for a few minutes the other day and couldn't watch it anymore. The cheesiest thing I have seen this year by far. Although that Windows 7 House Party video comes close. Anyone see Bernie's acting? "Where the hell are those guys!"
I thought F1 Rocks was pretty lame. I had never seen Beyonce "perform" before...she's supposed to have talent?
