I still think the sprint is silly, but it did allow Sainz to gain places after making a mistake on Friday. I think the race finishes the way it starts. lol @ Mercedes
I'm not so confident. Charles didn't exactly drive off into the distance after passing Max and Max's tires held up better than Charles'. RB looks to be in the fabled catbird seat for tomorrow.
Well, now they know the life of the softs if they decide to start on those, albeit with more fuel. Wonder if they could drive through the graining phase. Start from 2nd was useful today.
Yea Ferrari need to solve the tire issue for tomorrow; though it might not become an issue with the pitstops included for tomorrow. Better for this happen in the sprint than in the race with big points, the pace was there. Also good job from Sainz to get in the second row so Red Bull can't play 2-1 tactics against Lec.
Good job by Sergio, Carlos and Bottas. Bottas probably still not believing his good fortune getting dumped by Merc.
Agreed...Max stayed within 1.1-1.5 seconds the whole time and still had enough tyre to then start honing in on Charles, to then even take him. Perhaps Ferrari is set up for rain tomorrow. Softer car = hurts tyres more. Ferrari has a comfortable lead so to finish P2 tomorrow wouldn't be the end of the world (IF the red bull makes it). Did Red Bull use their full upgrade kit this weekend and dropped the 10kg? Great recovery drives from Sainz and Perez. Bottas also really well done....NO running in the dry at all for him and he had great pace. That Alfa is a great little car.
Always tires/tyres!! Grrrr..........wing adjustment or mediums for Ferrari I think for tomorrow. We need to win the race!
Hamilton is getting a Vettel face, he seems just happy following tsunoda, unacceptable for the money he is been paid. He better get on with it. Was the tyre of Leclerc a dud, sainz didn't have the same issue.
Leclerc had Max pressuring him.....by lap 17 or 18, Leclerc's tires just went downhill. Max was just waiting to make his move.....patiently.
I could be mistaken, but isn't Ferrari still running the same specs with which they started the season?
I mean I thought we got this soon as Charles passed Max, but the fact that Max did not let the gap grow and built a comfortable gap in just one lap kinda scares me... Can we explain this with Charles' tire issue? What was wrong with his tire management? Feeling a bit pessimistic right now, to be frank...
