you guys in Australia seeing live coverage? I have to wait until 11 tonight to see the tape on Speed. You guys suck...I hate you!!!
I think there are some serious sand-bagging going on. MS, DC and KR all did only a handfull of laps. I don't think we are seeing any true potentials just as of yet.
I think that the teams are playing it safe since they are not 100% sure if there motors will make it thru the weekend or not. This is one of my concernes for this year is that there will not be much action on the track on Fridays any longer.
also lets think about this the track lap record went to Kimi with a 1:27:724... The top 7 cars were under this number. sandbagging???? i doubt it.
Yes, sand-bagging as in it looks like the top drivers, especially the Ferraris and the Mc-MBs appears to be able to break the record at will with doing only 4-5 laps (except for RB). Either the F-2004s and the MP-19s are just light years ahead of the rest of the field in terms of development, or other teams such as Renults and Williams are just sand-bagging the session.
Next session will be more telling ... as we still do not know what they are up to. Saying that it did look like the Ferraris are easily on pace ... and I was impressed with Coulthards 5 laps! Pete
If I'm reading the new rules correctly, it's in this coming session that everyone has to commit to race tires. We might see some diffrent numbers with cars trying different compounds in the second session.
The timing and scoring has been reset let the 2nd session begin The only thing i hope is that the rain here in AZ lets up before the practice starts on SpeedTV since it has been raining so hard that is blocking my satellite signal off and on all night long Forza Ferrari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4 drivers now under 1:26 and MS now on the track can he turn a sub 1:25????? YESS HE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, 1:24.718 ... now RB's turn ... Pete EDIT: RB is on a good one, and note that Webber is now in the 26s
that lap time is 3 seconds faster than the old track record. I would have to say the F2004 is for real.. Also of note 13 cars so far under the old track record.
I would have to agree with you on that one Pete all 3 BAR's are in the top 10 and Sato was the last driver to place an initial time.
