I stumbled across this website: http://www.paolodalessio.it/shop/catalog/default.php?cPath=3 A few amazing "see through" drawings of F1 cars. I have always loved this kind of style/technique and was wondering whether there are any others? And I don't mean the usual F1 technology drawings, but realistic renderings "through" the body work.
I guess allowing us to see a preview would kind of defeat his marketing effort! Anyway, can't remember his name now, but there is (was?) a guy who did similar for Road & Track magazine. Awesome talent. Cheers, Ian
I found Alessio because there were some of his drawings "thrown in" with 1/43 F1 models. I wish there was an entire book of nothing but these kind of drawings. Occasionally you find one of them in books (Formula Ferrari has one of a MS era car) or mags, but nothing comprehensive.
Cool! You mean like this; http://motorsportcollector.com/CUTAWAY.html The bad news is it was limited to 1000 copies and sold out in a few months!..... If you search Google images for the author (David Kimble) you get quite a few hits - Some of 'em are even reasonably sized. Cheers, Ian
Ah, yesss! Funny that you list that website. This is one of my fav stores. Just ordered F1 stuff from them last week. Anyway, I'll have to keep an eye out for Kimble. That's exactly what I'm after. And I learned that cut-away is really the technical term.
