Has any "buddies" been lucky on the Internet in getting tickets (from the USA) for the F1 China Race??? All the suggested sites from the official Race track seem to be in chinese language.

    Any suggestions..

Best of drives and sunny weather to you all...Regards

I don't think there is anyway a foreigner can buy ticket from their website.
Let's just assume you actually have enough patience to surf the site, which is down 70% of time and slow as hell 30% of time, let's just assume you actually read Chinese(there is a link for English page but you have to read Chinese to find that link, lol), let's just assume you actually made to ticket ordering page and picked out what you want and put it shopping cart...
Guess what, you still can not buy, because it will give you error message after you input your CC info, it can not process oversea(non-Chinese) creditcard!! They use this USA service(forgot the name of it) to process payment for them outside of China, I actually called them, they are aware of problem, and said it will be fixed within a week(that was beginning of March).

I gave up, called up peeps I know in Shanghai and got me tickets at the sales window at the track. It is a shame, really.

I am in China so I do not know if the Ticket ordering system works outside but its fine here and is in English nor is there a problem using credit card from outside, my card is from HSBC Canal St, New York.

There are several sources check out the circuit site first icsh.sh.cn and follow the links.

I tried the official Track site and either its all in chinese print or what "Woodear" said in his post, happens. Some of the f1 ticket salesites on the web ( most of them from Netherland) did not show me the secure lock on the order form. So I stay away from those sites especially since I am looking for 4 top seat tickets.

    Thanks, Woodear!

    Still looking

Maybe you are using a different system. Since you are in China, I assume the tickets is either for pick-up or delivery within China, in that case, they use a different processing system.
We need tickets to be mailed by Express Mail to North American, so we order from a different system, that one is not working right now, it won't accept CC payment.

    You are wlecome.
I will be very careful ordering from a website. From what I know, no tickets is outsourced to 3rd party sales agencies. They reserve a percentage (including a good portion of Diamond section) for interntal use, which means it goes to government officials and big corps(who then give to their oversea VIP clients/associates). They reserve a block for FIA, then the rest is only sold by Chinese agents in Shanghai, mostly big travel/ticket broker, the cheapest tickets($25, sitting on grass) is sold in supermarkets.

I think it works...but you must look at the main charts first!

the problem with the system is
if the section of seats are sold out (not available anymore)
it simply hang in that screen of payment info..and would not tell you that it is not available.

so go and look at the main seating chart (with prices)
the area with no prices means sold out.

Finally got tickets through my company contacts in Shanghai. 4 Tickets in block K at 305$ a piece. Looks as though even the locals have problems in getting good seats. Lawn tickets can be purchased at gas stations there at 25$.

Thanks guys for all your help.

When you say "got", you meant you have a confirmation of order right? Did your contact pre-pay for the tix for you?

    Hi WOOdear

A counterpart colleague of my Company in Shanghai actually purchased the tickets for me, directly from the official ticket office in Shanghai, personally.

Thats what he told me. They did it personally, as they wanted to get a bunch of tickets to hand to "customers".

That's odd. From my understanding, the actual tickets are not even printed yet. It should be availble in early Augest from delivery/shipping/pick-up for all pre-paid buyers.
My contact paid and got receipt for me, but not the actual tickets. I'd better change with them, now you are positive your colleague obtained the ACTUAL tickets?

Does anyone have an idea how well tickets are selling so far? Are there many sold-out sections?
