Sorry guys, i got a question when you upshift or downshift the gear do you step on the gas pedal? or it's better to lift off (better for the gearbox).......as i just got it a day so i wonder which way is best to keep the best condition out of it.

    thks alot

This is covered in some detail by the owner's manual. Under most circumstances you simply keep the throttle steady for shifting.

I never lift on the upshift and please read the manual, it has some great advice for shifting. I always run the car in "sport" mode as this provides less slippage of the clutch. i have also found the sweet spot for my car is right at 5500rpm to 6000 rpm less "jerk" and I have moderate throttle input on this shift. You will also find that the car will shift quicker depending on the throttle input, at wot "wide open throttle" the car shifts like a cannon, very quick!!
When down shifting I am always off the throttle as I am usually coming to a stop. On that note, I also allow the car to downshift from 2nd to 1st at a stop. Also, its ok to leave the car in gear while waiting at a light. This is also covered in the manual.

Happy reading and congrats on the new car!!!! Remember its not official until we see pics!!!!

    Hi Everyone!
This is my first post. I received my "07 430 F1 three weeks ago. It's yellow with black leather interior/yellow stitching. I'm confused regarding downshifting and the gas pedal. My owners manual states that you should keep the gas pedal engaged(on the throttle) which doesn't make sense. Is this a typo? Do you actively downshift or let the car downshift by itself? Thanks for the input.

Well it depends on the mode you are drivin' the car. But I prefer not to change gear too harshly and step on the pedal dependable on your speed and the gear. When downshiftin' do not kick the pedal . :)

Moreover check the owner's manuel for more info!!

I'm a 430 F1 newbie as well....aside from when you are really pushing the car...what way seems to be the best for the tranny/clutch to start from a dead start? Do you give it steady gas or are you progressively giving more as the clutch engages?

Drive the car everyday and drive it hard. You will find the sweet spots of your tranny rather quickly by just driving it a LOT.

Easy answer would be steady gas. The manual will tell you not to modulate. I found that it can vary depending on if the car is cold or at operating temp. The clutch seems to engage much slower when its cold. Just keep playing with it till you find the balance.
