I've got a 355 6 speed and I'm very careful shifting when the car is warming up. Many times I'll just shift 1-3 until it's warm as I've heard many do. In general, I tend to baby all manuals until everything is warm.

How does the F1 handle shifting until it's warm? Does it just use the usual force? If so, it seems like it would be hard on the forks or drums and a raft of other internal components.

I had the same thought do not expect the F1 system to operate any different when the gearbox oil is cold that is one of the reasons that I went for the manual. When mine is really cold it is even difficult to go smoothly from 1st to 3rd .

The cars are happy to take-off in 2nd, and with the amount of 'swirling' going on in the box, it doesn't take very long for it to warm-up, and then you can down to business.

It's got to be a bit hard on the clutch when it starts in 2nd. Are you saying the F1 warms up faster?
