What's your preference of holding your F1 steering wheel? Are the 9 and 3 o'clock positions the most common ones?
Since I have my f430, most of the time I comfortable holding these two positions even thru turnings except during shifting.

9 and 3 o'clock here also. Gives the best leverage and control for small corrections in my opinion.

Yes, 9 and 3, or just slightly above, a bit towards 10 and 2.

Note that driving schools like Skip Barber and Bondurant all teach a shuffle steer method designed to keep your hands in those positions at all times through the corners. So there must be something to it.

For my hands, my thumbs go into the depressions on the steering wheel for the horn, then wrap my fingers around the wheel, and that's best position to flap the flappy paddles for me.

    But of course.

I should have noted that my advice was geared towards ordinary mortals.

Extraterrestrial Gods need not bother. :)

Don't have an F1, but the EVO has a Getrag twin clutch.

Thumbs at 9 and 3, and I use my left thumb to adjust the jams. :p

The EVO MR's wheel is busy.
Horn, stereo controls, bluetooth controls, cruise control, and wheel activated voice control for almost everything else.
The transmission adjust and traction controls aren't on the wheel, but you don't adjust those while moving.

The only time I have to take my hands off the wheel is to operate windows or sunroof. ;)
