Had car in for the 360 pump upgrade as old pump getting warm/bleeping. Following fitting the car still bleeps but now has become very jerky when changing gear. Only has problems when light lit/bleeping probably 50% of time when driving, rest of the time it has improved changes. Garage(approved Ferrari) have run the setting procedure but on the final stage, pressing accelerator pedal twice, gearbox ecu doesn't respond! Garage has said they cannot complete setting because of this, which sounds credible. They have suggested a ecu fault so I've had ecu checked at a recommended specialist and he cannot find anything wrong. Ecu is on back order from factory and difficult to source. The diagnostic does show a Can-line error? Any of you knowledgeable souls any suggestions, greatly appreciated.
That "press pedal three times and hold down while singling the Italian national anthem" is a procedure of last resort. Any little electrical connection anomaly will stop the process. Does this Ferrari approved facility have an SD computer? Once that 360 pump is put in place you will need to bleed the system and reset the parameters. Both require the SD system to accomplish.
CanBus is the communications protocol used to allow communication between the ECU's and devices thru out the car. Network errors are serious will cause a variety of problems. The alarm rate you are seeing (50%) is very bad. I would start by getting the fault identified and corrected. If your shop does not have the technical knowledge and equipment you'll need to go elsewhere. This could be as simple as a loose connector on one of the system devices or ECU's. Hopefully one of the forum 360 experts can offer more help specific to your Fcar and the F1 system. Good luck and please post often as you work thru this problem. Brewman
I took the ECU to a specialist who ran some tests and found nothing wrong with the unit. I refitted and to my surprise now seemed to work perfectly, however after putting on some miles the light does occasionally flash. Makes no difference to gear change though and since this upgrade the changes are quick and considerably smoother so definitely worth it. Taking car to local specialists next week so I'll report their findings.
If you have a drawing of the Can Bus network I suggest you locate, inspect, and clean all connectors. Having worked with many networks your symptoms sound like either a bad, dirty, or loose connector I would start with the F1 system. Glad to hear the ECU tests good. Brewman
What does this mean? Does this indicate that the Trans-Axle is low on fluid, or is the F-1 pump going out
well I do know that the f1 blinking gear light thingy, will blink if the pressure is not at the working bar/psi. goes from blinking to solid lit to off when pressure is up to normal and system is OK
Update on this problem is garage swopped with a known good ECU which proved to be inconclusive. Switched back and ran a diagnostic again no errors! I collected car and spent the day driving it and it performed faultlessly. Last night I took the wife out for a meal and on the way back warning light & bleeping!! Garage cleaned all associated can line loom but reported everything ok. When the ECU is removed and refitted it runs fine for a while but eventually starts to play up. Very puzzling.
