I bought a spare relay for my '99 360 and was thinking about replacing the original after reading about some of you that replace the relays periodically. Any thoughts on interval for replacement? Mileage, time or both? Thanks!

I replaced mine at 15k then keep the assumed good original in the tool kit for chance of failure in the future. I would think to have a spare at any given time is about all that would be necessary.

mine was 12 years old with 55,000 miles on it when my pump started running for a long time (45 seconds) when I opened the door, replaced the relay and all is good again. I don't think its a regular swap item, just something to have as a spare, I wont change it again until I have another problem.

My mechanics at Competizione (board sponsors) suggested every two years. You dont want to screw up the whole system over a simple part.
