I don't put much stock in pre-season testing times since I think a lot of teams sandbag, but KR doesn't seem to have run many laps...
I was at Barcelona today. I took my 9 year old son (formerly a Schumacher fan) who was desperate to see Raikkonen in a Ferrari. We had to wait an hour and a half watching Toro Rossos, Hondas, BMWs etc., but finally we saw Kimi in red. He was a lot smoother than most of the other drivers out there, with big, big drifts exiting the new chicane between corners 12 and 13. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's because they'd run into a lot of problems with the car. Then when they got it sorted out the rain came. All of this prompted Luca Colajanni to insist that Ferrari is "competitive" when asked where they were in relation to the competition. "The thing is we have a good basic package," he added "a package can build upon. Therefore we are confident." http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=30522 Why say anything? It's testing for gods sake. Ferrari never really has said anything during this time in the past, so it seems odd to me that they're doing so now.
My only concern is having Kimi acclimate himself to the Bridgestones; I think the car will be fine....
well, IMO, i think they are forced to come out with a statement. this of course, is due to post-schumi era. read along, even Marc Gene issued a statement saying there's nothing wrong with the F2007 prog. but, the car broke down the very next day ( barcelona ). i just hope the scuderia can get their act together fast. time is precious here.
