This came on when I picked up my car from the clear bra installer who also hooked up a dash cam for me. The dash cam was hooked into the fuse box for a clean install. I drove home about 7 miles when I picked up the car last night not knowing what the light meant. Looked it up this morning and see it's the F1 transmission light. However when I open the door the F1 pump is only on for 5 seconds or so to build pressure and the car seems to be driving and shifting okay (though I don't have a lot of time in the car yet so it seems normal). Could the light be a result of plugging the dash cam into the fuse box? [IMG]

Could be. Cycle the cut out switch to reset the electronics. Seems these F cars are easily confused...

Don't know about the F1 light....but get some gas ;) And I would switch modes so you are not looking at the clock all the time. That thing was driving me nuts the first few months I had my Scud...the clock gains about 3 or 4 minutes a month...I inquired here and seems they all do it. The solution is to turn it off so your (my?) ocd doesn't flip out. lol

Okay I will take a shot at your F1 light. I would try the "reset" with the battery switch in the trunk mentioned above. Follow the owners manual instructions for the restart method, to restore engine idle parameters. If the light doesn't go away, I would recommend going to the dealer, or a trusted independent Ferrari specialist to have the fault code read. Hopefully something minor

Love the intuitive warning light, if I saw that I'd think the engine cover wasn't closed fully!

If you saw that and didn't know what it meant I would just assume you never bothered to read the manual and learn about your car.

Nobody.. NOBODY reads the manual. If they did, 90% of the questions on this site would be answered. :)

OP: It could be that the installation mucked with the electronics. You can try to disconnect the cam and see if that resolves it. Otherwise I'd check the F1 fluid level (please see manual) and otherwise bring it in for a scan.. why does the car feel the need to give you an F1 light..?

The power taken from the fuse box for a dashcam is not going effect anything. Its only a few watts, your lights take several times more

On the office Maserati, I came to call that the "F-You Light" as opposed to F1 light. Seemed more fitting.

OK mystery solved. It was the dash cam. He did not tap into the fuse box as that was the original plan of attack, but he couldn't see a clean way to run the wire to the fuse box in the front boot. The installer opened up the tunnel and saw an empty power source and tapped into it. It was most likely power for some option that the car didn't have. So tapping into that wire probably confused the computer. The dash cam was re-wired to tap into the same power source as the cigarette lighter and viola, F1 Transmission light gone!

I read the manual, but didn't really want to go through the hassle of resetting the electronics through the restart/battery method as I'd have to put in the radio codes, etc. (and I can't even figure out how to find a certain radio station. I didn't get that far into the manual...).

My dealer had also told me a way to reset the electronics - lock and unlock the doors 5 times (without opening the door), and then open the door. Kind of like an old school video game trick to get unlimited lives thing. I found that the button on the inside of the car only locks the car, it doesn't unlock. Has anyone else heard of this method to reset the electronics?
