Today's China GP trophy's look they could have been from a monster truck race... More than 3/4 of the trophy's of the last many years have been hideous... Can we get decent looking victory hardware please.
I agree as well. I like the fact that each track has its own trophy. Some are great (e.g. the Australian replica of Brabham's steering wheel) and some are hideous as this one.
The worst one is the Santander logo trophy; Monza I believe? Bar none, the sport with the coolest trophies is hockey. Kevin
Used to be an unspoken rule that the trophies should be something you could "fill with champagne". Those days are long gone...
The Santander logo is hideous: It always reminds me of a stinking pile of s_hit. Seriously. That's how they're drawn in comic strips.
If you ever come across a "Broesel Werner" comic from Germany, you'll see what I mean. Whenever he thinks something is BS, the "Santander logo" is drawn in his thoughts. Seriously I can't believe that a company would pick such a logo without having checked that before. Reminds me of the Chevy "No va" or the "Lugano l".
Corporate interest > creative interest. For any of you who have collected racing posters in the past, F1 hasn't produced an interesting one in 10 years.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought this. I saw the trophy today and I was thinking "wtf...why are there flames on it?" Last years was much better. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought it was a photo shop. If it isn't then somebody really is a bit clueless or really has his head in the gutter.
You have it wrong! The Santander logo is bad yes, but, does anyone remember the trophy form Brazil that was made of recycled bottle caps? It was a nasty blue-ish green color. I would have been embarassed to hold that one up!
A HA! You're really Button! or maybe one of the other drivers. No one could possible care about how trophies look unless they actually have them in the cabinet!
