    BJag, is that down-under? why are they burying them? if they are decomissioned, i wold have thought they would recycle the airframes? odd

    up in Queensland,I think they have kept a couple of planes for musuems,static display only.
    Will be most missed at public events ie Grand prix,Bathurst and Australia day.
    I live in Melbourne,but go to Mt Martha beach house,on Port Phillip bay,Australia day they would do a lap of the bay ,no more then about 800 metres high.
    re-cycle our left wing Government are to busy bringing in Green house taxation on large companies.

    Maybe contaminated with something? Seems odd to put em in a hole. I will miss that plane though. One of my favorites.

    Too contaminated to sink as artificial reefs too.

    Sad to see them end up like this though - we are so keen these days on not making any changes to our world that in the future there will be no relics from the late 20th century for people to marvel over :(

    Yes sad to see these not recycled..any of these that have gone through depot overhaul over the years, (which most did) went through my organization, ive seen hundreds over the years torn down to this level and rebuilt to like new condition...
