For all the tech talk around the "aero bridge" I personally think it's design for marketing sake i.e. F1 tech on your road car for the sake of it rather than because it needs to be there. F1 tech is one of Ferrari's key selling points.

The GTO produces almost 20% more downforce than the F12 and it doesn't need to route the airflow through the bonnet and down the side of the car.

I can't help likening the form of the F12 to the Z4 Coupe - that's not derogatory (before I get "flamed" - excuse the pun - for saying this) I think this was one of Bangle's best designs - a nice compact front-mid GT with a long bonnet. It's just really unusual that a new Ferrari design should be so unoriginal. Same face as all the other models. When I first saw the 599 I was awestruck. The F12 pics don't do that to me. Perhaps when I see it at Geneva I'll think differently....Chris Bangle must be loving this!

always a good reason to be skeptical. i assume your aero numbers vs. GTO are correct but are those from Ferrari, seems odd? I will say that just from photos, as I havent seen it in person yet, what's weird to me is how I can see so many other car's shapes in its form. FF and California up front and on the side and then very strong 550/575 from the rear wheel back. it does all seem a little cut and paste as a result. in person of course this effect may go away.

Given the F12 has 740HP, rear wheel dive and no real rear wing, something is working back there.
