Between Novitec & Capristo hoping one offers remote vs operates like factory. Open to suggestion - had issues with Capristo on 16M and Capristo sent me a full brand new 18k exhaust. It took some time but they were great in the end and it's been perfect for years.
As I've mentioned before, that video is the primary reason I ordered a GTS ... along with a straight piped Carrera GT, it is the closest to peak race car sound I have ever heard. My car will in fact be a necessary half mil accessory to that exhaust, not the other way around.
I don't know if one sounds better than the other. They are both magnificent. They are very different. My pre-GPF SF is a very raw masculine V-12 sound. I did not like the sound of the GTS at first. But having had the car for about a month, I think it sounds equally impressive. But in a different more refined manner.
GMG on Carrera GT - job #1 make the instrument produce best sounds at all times. Bottom line - only way to hear what people outside the car hear is to modify - why cheat yourself when matching the engine shifts blips rev's.
I’ve had my 812GTS for a year now. It’s a fabulous car. The first 2000 miles were spent driving from Napa down to Los Angeles down the coast. The sound is refined and just a touch quiet. Many local (Toronto area) 812 GTS have had full Novitec exhausts installed. these cars sound like Schumacher’s 2004 F1 car but I think this modification does not suit the character of the car. It’s a touring car with spectacular capabilities and stirs the soul. To make it insanely loud is a personal preference but I think that insane level of sound is reserved for more hard core cars.
Is that not the entire premise for different spec options - with a controlled exhaust you get two specs in one. Comfort seats carbon seats leathers alcantara etc is a finale but with the exhaust the beauty is you can take the GTS in two directions. One can always close the valves with a remote and transform the car when you want to raise a lil hell and add hp. My Capristo 16M is almost as quick as the Speciale - putting the GTS in "Comp" category
You think a Speciale doesn’t need an exhaust but a GTS does? I have both too. GTS is yards ahead of Speciale for sound and it’s not even close according to my ears! Speciale blares, GTS sings with beautiful mechanical melodies. Never ceases to amaze me how we petrolheads can all think so differently.
My Speciale has factory titanium exhaust perhaps yours does not. Add it's a coupe with the engine behind my head separated with a piece of glass vs firewall.
For the price - hopes not it says pipes. Have titanium tips on my 16M with full Capristo so thinking it's the pipe not just the tip. Titanium sport exhaust pipes (EXAT)
They are the tips. I looked at this option way back when I was speccing my speciale . Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
