im gonna keep playing with this idea and bother ur eyes with it until its dead in my head. i've been thinking and looking for a GTO for like a year now, cant find my perfect example thats priced right, but i believe once the F12 gets out and everywhere, the GTO's price will start to fall. in my country people dont care about gto's heritage or whatever, so spec for spec, F12 kills it. but im one of the few that cares a little and i sort of like how the old F1 shifts and all the suede and technical fabric that the GTOs have. Locally a GTO with 1k miles are priced the same as a F12 of my spec. i found a GTO which is perfect for me and it has an awesome red alcantara interior but i cant show pics because buyer wont sell yet. He even sounds like the people on fchat, saying a GTO is much more than a F12, blah blah blah.... but from my experience with new model fcars, the new ones are always waist and a$$ above old ones, so .... so my best bet is to get both, preferably the GTO now and F12 when it gets here. of course after all this $%^&it, no results. need to see a shrink to get rid of this thing in my head.
In your position I would do the following. Get the GTO now ans get a pre owned F12 later one because I think the ultimately values of the GTO will increase and I highly highly doubt the F12 is going to have quite the raw feel the GTO has.
Different cars with different purposes and focus........in my opinion they cannot be compared. The F12 will never be able to capture the feel and sense of purpose that the GTO has. I have an F12 on order, but not as a a replacement of the GTO. My F12 will come and go, but I have no intention of selling the GTO. That says it all........ Good luck with your purchase, whatever it may be.
John, I will go with the F12, but that's only for me, by the way, are you coming to the F1 watch this sunday? Alex
If you can get a prime GTO right now for the price of an F12, then you should take it. I am not seeing GTOs priced that low. And, no doubt the F12 will depreciate, while the GTO should remain stronger.
If you want, I'll get you a brand new GTO in Germany below list already. I'm sure Ferrari will produce some 'raw' version of the F12 sooner or later.
