Thats not normal. Are you sure backs of the seats are carbon and not plastic?

The only thing I can come up with as to why the backs have changed color like they have been bleached from the sun is this. The owner that lives in the SW Arizona and Southern California had many cars and stored the car outside and moved the seat backs forward to try to protect the leather but did not know was in turn bleaching the carbon fiber. Just my thoughts.

Anyone else have any thoughts, in all the F12's I have looked at this is the first like this.

Can they be fixed or not?

This can happenl. The carbon has a clear coat on it that can fade, or become dull over time as it oxidizes, or in rare cases just fails. Generally speaking it requires direct exposure to UV/heat or similar types of environmental impact. Sometimes you may see clear turn yellow on carbon etc. I've yet to see this on the seats, but if you're keeping the car in a lot of direct UV and it's hitting those seat backs, then you can see failure like this. Sometimes it can be polished back to a high gloss, but depends on the carbon and the degradation. It may require wet sanding by a professional and a new clear coat applied to restore them in more extreme situations.
