I am visualizing that F12 in the same paint scheme as the GTO. Mmmmmm :)

That said, don't keep us in suspense - what were they both like to drive?

It's difficult to compare these cars. The F12 is an awesome car, very comfortable and at the same time extremely agile. The sound is unbelievable.
The GTO is on the other hand more like a race car. It is kind of unpredictable. It likes to play with you if you dare to take it to the limit. The gear box is more direct and mechanical. Especially in race modus it will take you from hell to heaven, and get your passenger vomit.
The gear box in F12 is on the contrary very smooth. I was a little surprised with the set up in Race mode.
If I hade to choose, I'd take the F12.

Thank you for the pictures and the comments. Do you know what exact colour was the F12?

Jeeez, thats some nasty color scheme on the GTO. Fugly. The F12 on the other hand is really classy.

Love the GTO in Giallo Modena, but not with black wheels. The stock gunmetal would have looked better to me.

Kjell- Thanks for the driving impressions. F12 is something else, but then so is the GTO. Not sure which I would rather have, but moot point since I can afford neither. Probably the 730 hp one in Giallo Triplo Strato.

I don't think that the F12 lends itself well to aggressive paint schemes. It is too elegant a design, even though it is flamboyant in its details. The 599 on the other hand says "muscle car," a completely different aura.

F12 looks so modern and makes GTO look truck-like. I know, flame suit on! :)

I don't like Yellow Ferrari's but even in that colour the GTO still looks so right. Not that the F12 doesn't but there is just something about the GTO IMO.

The things I would do to own one of these cars for a week.... And some of the things aren't legal. ;-)

It looks like Giallo Tristato and Grigio Silverstone to me.
