I always corner weight cars with coil over suspensions and finally I decided to do the F12 today. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If this is in kg, how does one account for the difference between 4300 lb and the stated 3600 lb "curb weight?"
Wow!! And people were complaining of the 1511 Kg kerb wt of Speciale!!?? I knew the F12 was a big, heavy car - but even I underestimated the wt of it! Makes the modest kerb wt's of modern 911's and Boxsters/Caymand even more impressive...
He says he has 75kg (165lbs) in each seat. Thats about 331 lbs you could take out of the car right there. Even at 4,000lbs it seems like the F12 is a beast of a car but it does have 730 HP to help with that!
Yea but still far from 3600. Where is the extra 400lbs? So with 2 passengers the car could be at 4700? Wow.
I am still at a loss to account for the announced curb weight of 3600 lb, which is supposed to include things like seats, and the 4300 lb measurement. Are there 700 lb of options on this car?
It was 4300 including driver, passenger (330 lbs.) and 75% fuel. That's a weight of about 3860 lbs. without occupants, and fuel. How do you get to 4700 lbs.?
I dont know the extra weight comes from weight in each seat and gas. It has racing seats and a lot of cf.
Hey guys. In his posts he says he has 75 kg in each seat plus 75% fuel (115lbs alone). That's 450 lbs right there between fuel and passengers. So his car is 3865 lbs without that stuff. Add in options, other fluids and you'll find the other 250 lbs very quick. Extra leather? Washer fluid, oil, the tires and wheels don't look to be the base oem units the stock car would have been weighed with. It all adds up quick. Gesendet von meinem iPhone mit Tapatalk
the simple answer is that you can't drive a car at its 'curb' weight so its a pointless number, anyway... also lets make sure his scales are accurate!
Curb weight is supposed to include all fluids and 'typical options.' Curb weight - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So still need to account for an extra 700 lb.
There does not appear to be any leveling shims or slip plates or I'm not seeing it. Surprisingly, Both make a huge difference in corner and alignment outcome.
True but the F12 is not trying to be a Boxster or a 911. I love my Boxster SSE but its a completely different experience. Even more tossable, if you like that kind of thing, was my Lotus Elise, which handles like a formula car. But when you compare the F12 to other big V12s that approach it in power you find it most definitely feels lighter to drive and more confidence inspiring, predictable at the limit compared to that class. Least it does for me.
But theoretically if you measure all the corners without moving the car, the sum of the downward force should be the weight. IMO I don't believe that the F12 weighs 4300 lb. Ferrari may play a little fast and loose with the weight numbers but 700 lb? No.
WOW can't believe this jajajaj Of course I use leveling plates bellow each scale and also all four bases are leveled to zero and I use two metal sheets in each scale with light grease between each other to allow the tire to slide a little bit every time the car is lifted to make adjustments in the coil overs . Each black scale base has levelling bolts too etc and for the alignmet we use string alignment tool, that is very accurate if you properly set up these tools. JAJAJ come on !!!
This car has extra: -OEM Fire extinguisher -OEM Berlinetta leather bags -Front and rear cameras -Novitec rear exhaust cf covers -Novitec cf fog lamp cover -Novitec Wheels -Novitec Exh tips -Novitec springs -Capristo exh -Racing seats -JBL sound -CF engine bay I mention this as possible weight increase or decrease cause.
WTF???? A ferrari that weighs more than its stated, official curb weight? (adjusted to apples-to-apples of course). I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on here!" "In other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead"
Another F-chatter already did share the weights... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia/458257-speciale-race-scales.html
