I finally figured out the "aero bridge" thing--it's really sort of a Mazda RX8 front fender but the aero bridge connects it to the main car body from side view so that it looks all of one piece when viewed from the side.
Does anyone think the downforce claims of several hundred pounds will be substantiated in some other automaker's wind tunnel?
I have only seen the car in pictures but some foreign magazines identify the wierd vertical thing on the rear valance panel that looks like a cell phone as a "fog lamp" even a "Formula 1 fog lamp." Not following F1, i wasn't aware they had fog lamps, especially on the rear.
Overall i haven't read many opinions on this site about the design , of course I realize seeing the car in person might change this preliminary criticism as did i when I saw the 458 Italia--there were subtle features that you couldn't see in the pictures.

In its modern designs Ferrari/Pininfarina will also often give a nod to designs of the past, sometimes distant past. This roadster -- the AAC 815 of 1938 -- was the first car built by Enzo Ferrari's company. It could not be named a Ferrari because Enzo's contract with Alfa forbid his use of his own name on his cars for five years. You can perhaps see an echo of the F12berlinetta's side sculpting here. It is also interesting that the body, which was designed by Touring, was one of the first to use a wind tunnel. Tufts of cotton were attached to the car and their motion in the wind was observed. Perhaps they noted that the tufts along the side would be flattened by the shaped inverted wing of the side. Alas we will probably never know.

Saw the F12 when I was at the factory yesterday - absolutely stunning - love the lines and the interior.

One english magazine on the newsstand now has the reporter asking the Ferrari pR man if the new F12 has a diffuser and the Ferrari man said he didn't want to talk about it. So if there was an actual car here that I could put my hands on and the car was not running maybe I could put my hand down the vent and see if there's a little fan in there. On the other hand, maybe the fan runs with the car is not running. At any rate it's not a real new idea, as McLaren had it on their F1 road car though i believe there's was in a more centralized tunnel. I wonder how much that figures in the downforce, like maybe 35%?
