I have recurring problems with the factory fitted vodaphone immobiliser. Ordered a new fob to communicate but it seems I will need to take the car back into my local dealer to have them reset the system. The consequence of this not working is that every time I drive the car the I get a phone call questioning if the car has been stolen, I then have to select the option to ignore the alert on the basis it is false.

Driving the car yesterday the usually automated call came through but without me having the option to dismiss the alert as false, the call was ended. 2 or 3 minutes later while I was driving, all of the electrics went completely dead - no indicators, hazard lights or anything. I rolled to a stop and managed to get off the main road into a driveway. The car was now completely dead, nothing from the key, no buttons working, not able to open the boot or anything.

I phoned vodaphone and they say they didn't activate a stop on the car.

However, 15 mins later I speak to another member of the customer services team and it appears a theft alert had been registered but I didn't get clarity as to whether or not they had initiated a stop on the car - the suggestion was they had not.

I was really late at this point so wasn't able to properly question an find out more detail - will do this tomorrow.

My question is whether anyone has experienced a loss of all electrical controls like this and also does this sound like an immobiliser issue where everything is cut? Very worrying. I am also due to take the car to Italy for 5 day driving tour and this has really unsettled me. I will book the car into Ferrari tomorrow but equally keen to hear if anyone has experienced this?

In between the panic I was trying to find out how to open the boot manually to get the towing eye I read on the forum open and manually lock the car with the key three times to reset things. I did this and the electrics sprang back to life. I restarted the car and quickly drove home.
