Hello everyone. I have a friend with a stock F12. He want some more sound to it. I said is sounds pretty good in original spec compared to the earlier V12 models which is very quiet. But he still want more. So what is the trick? When looking at Youtube videos of F12s with full sports exhaust all the way, it seems like they become too loud and pops and bangs alot which makes it less exclusive in my opinion. What should we do? I know the F12 has no center muffler. So obviously the rear mufflers needs to be replaced. I think he still want to be able to keep it quiet if really needed. Thanks, Erik Norway
What I have on my F12 is the Capristo system which enables to open or close the exhaust valves at will using the remote control shown in the picture. As far as I know this system can be installed at any time, the cost is reasonable and much inferior to changing the exhaust. The F12 sound with the exhaust valves open is excellent and I'm sure will delight the most exigent ears. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have the Brookes inconel race exhaust for half a year now, makes more the car sounds little raw and screams above 5krpms loved it in every way, they even provide you and use the factory valves kit but automatically works in lower rpms. personally i wouldn't go the down pipes area because it will highly make the car sounds much louder across the rpms especially inside the cabin as well as increase vibrations and drones the entire car which disrupts F12 character is imho.
I have the same on my 458 and I couldn't agree more with Mário: rich and fulfilling sound, very practical to use, very reliable. I strongly recommend the Capristo solution. Also very good to avoid your neighbour's rath everytime you drive off! Kind regards, Nuno.
Try your valves open (unplug the vacuum hoses on exhaust valves) or get a valve controller first before messing with the stock exhaust components. Valves open on the stock exhaust may just do the trick. I have a controller but really don't need it as I leave the valves open 100% of the time. The valve controller was a waste of money in my case. If you go with race cats, ect...then you may want the controller if it's too loud 100% of the time with valves open and a modified exhaust.
