So I tapped a curb with my F12 (darn this thing has a long nose!) and cracked my splitter. Looks easy enough to change. Searching online for parts, it seems there are only the standard black one (which is what I have) and the carbon fiber one.

I ordered the OEM standard one from Scuderia Car Parts, around $900 with all the shipping and duties, etc. It shows up in gray gelcoat/primer rather than black. It honestly feels like fiberglass and not plastic. I was very surprised.

Anyone have the same experience? It is normal to have to get these painted? Seems kinda ridiculous for what is designed to be the sacrificial curb-finder. I thought about having it wrapped but the shape has a few complex spots which may be hard to get looking good wrapped.

I do not have the same experience but my F12 was speced with a regular front splitter but when I bought it, it had the carbon fiber one. I imagine they did this as an "upgrade" or because they didn't want to paint it.

Also, I got a ton of rock chips on those little flaps that open to cool the front brakes. I sanded them down then painted them with a flat black spray paint and it turned out pretty darn good. I imagine you may be able to paint your front bumper with the same paint. I'll search prior posts and try to find it.

It’s fiberglass they all come like that color gray primer. The old one did its job that’s what’s there for so you don’t crack the bumper.
Have it painted satin black and you’ll be fine.

I don't think it's fiberglass. It's some sort of molded plastic. The middle connection always gets cracked.
