Great image you have created! What about leaving the vertical edge of the rear fender lip dark red body color instead of covering it with blue. It would hi light that blue slash down the side better perhaps? What is the blue/ writing on the rear fender say - kaspersky?

Both renderings really look nice. If only all race cars could look this clean. I realize they have to pay the bills, but I'm getting tired of the NASCAR look with sponsor names and logos all over the car and driver. I'm sitting here in my office looking at a large lithograph of Phil Hill, (my childhood sports hero) driving the #2 156 at Monza in '61. A sad race to be sure, but the car, with just the yellow shields looks amazing.

Wish I had your talent for creating the designs you've done.

    Right on both counts.

Race cars have become rolling billboards but those sponsors bring us the teams and the events.

    Rick's designs are just wonderful.

Do you just make these renders using PS and copy/pasting wheels and wings from other cars? Just wondering, 'cause it's really well done. :)

Yes that is what I mostly do, on the most recent one: Wheels/tyres from 599xx, wing and diffuser from BMW Z4 GT3 and window/mirror from 430 challenge. The vents etc are just created in photoshop. The trick with getting it all to work together is taking time over the colour balance/brightness/contrast of the part you have put in, it does help being a bit of a perfectionist though!

I feel the same, love the look of the classic racing cars before the ridiculous sponsorship. Very few series take measures to make the cars look unsponsored! The only one I can think of is the Ferrari Formula Classic here in the UK - obviously the cars have to carry the graphics of the series sponsors, but the co-ordinators try to keep them looking as original as possible and they look fantastic! Then again perhaps I am a little biased!

Looks very cool. Would be nice if Prodrive could still build a version. Their 550 was the most competitive of all the 550/575's.

    I'd redo the wing support.

Making it the first thing you'd hit if you plowed into the rear is never a good Idea.

if the corvette zr-1 were supported by a true factory effort do you think that the ferrari would trounce it? i'm not so sure?

the artist rendering looks nice though!!!
