    Hello fellow Ferraristi,

Making some plans for future I have started considering getting 599 GTO successor based on F12berlinetta. I don't have very impressive purchase history with Ferrari, only owning newly bought FF. So, I wonder, how the new GTO's will be allocated? What would be the optimal way to secure one for me? I know it is early days, but I guess that in my case it is better to do it early than late.

Insightful members of the forum, probably 599 GTO owners, if you have any thoughts on how to get hold of F12 "GTO", please, post here.

I have contacted dealers, but they do not share much information about the new car before it is announced. I'm afraid that when it is announced, order books will suddenly become full :)

I'm based in the UK but obviously can purchase anywhere in Europe (don't care on which side steering wheel is).

    Best,
    Roman

Order an F12 and say you would be interested in trading it in when the F12 GTO or whatever it's called arrives.

Also, i believe Californias sales have slowed down in Europe so maybe ordering one would help. Not sure if all of the above is worth the hassle as the next super F12 will most likely follow the same faith as the GTO in the used market. You can buy them in Europe easily for less than MSRP with low miles... So unless you really want a very specific color combination (and if you dont think your dealer will allocate you one) then why not get a low miles ones?
With that said, i dont think they would turn you down when the time comes as you bought a new FF.

Not sure what you can do. Will depend on your local dealer more than anything. I have bought 3 Ferrari's from the same dealer and have been on the list for the F12 for 2 years. I asked the other day should I expect to order and receive my F12 in 2014? Response: "Ferrari gave us no F-12 allocations for January and February so you may be able to order the F12 in 2014 but don't expect to see it until sometime in 2015". The cars I have bought, 430 Spider, California and 458 all brand new. Go figure.

Has ferrari officially decided that there is a gto successor? There will most likely be a hgte version of the f12 but a gto version would kind of dilute the gto lineage.

Not even close. I mean, we haven't even seen any spy shots yet. ;)

But yes, buy a few more Ferrari's. I know that sounds silly, but ultimately, building the relationship to the brand is what helps the most.

There will be no "F12 GTO". Period. Why do people seem to be so convinced that Ferrari will release an F12 GTO?

If you are referring to a special version (the likes of an HGTE on the 599 line-up) then yes, there will be one but it won't be released with a GTO badge and production won't be limited.

As to getting one ... people had no problem ordering an HGTE version of the 599 so if you want one I'm sure you will be able to get one. You are a V12 customer with the FF you have. Shouldn't be a problem ;)

    My thoughts exactly, spot on.

There will be a limited production spider of the F12 (as with 599, 575, 550 etc.), but no new "GTO".

It seems that a hard core version of the sporty V8 and a hard core version of the sporty V12 is the norm nowadays for Ferrari. So I would expect an F12 GTO (or whatever it might be called) in a couple of years time.

I think you are confused. Of course there will be a HGTE (beefed up) version of the F12. But there will be no GTO version.

There will be an F12 spider. I understand the concept already exists and it is just a question of whether it is a limited edition or regular model. As to when, I would expect the HGTE version first...

Yes, it's certain there will be a F12 spider. Most likely, it will be launched after the HGTE version. Absolutely no doubt in my mind it will be a limited edition.

I don't believe I am. I was not refering to a HGTE version, as per the sportier 599. I was refering to a hard core version, such as the 599 GTO or the 458 Speciale. I believe that such a version of the F12 is on the cards.

There will be no F12 GTO :) End of story. Not going to discuss it any more. Be my guest and continue hoping, but unless you contact SP, there won't be any "GTO" F12 coming out of Maranello anytime soon...

That there will be a limited hard core version of the F12 down the road is probably a given. It will also get some kind of new name aka Speciale....But do not throw the GTO name on it because that is simply not going to happen. if you knew more about the the history of Ferrari you would understand the significance of the GTO badge and why many of us don't enjoy others using it as a catch phrase for every new Ferrari model being built. Good Luck in finding the Ferrari of your dreams and please feel free to call it absolutely anything you want except a GTO.

IMO the 599 GTO, while a heck of a car, wasn't quite worthy of the name.

I don't remember who said (Amenasce?)that it was Ferrari's "brilliant" idea to move remaining 599 shells and make some additional profit at the same time.
Fabulous car on it's own but as you said, just not special and unique enough to be worthy of the GTO moniker.....

Completely agree. Further, knowing the history of Ferrari I fail to see how a f12 "GTO" would not be as worthy of the GTO moniker as the 599 was.

I disagree. Look at the prior GTOs. Reasonably long production history of the base car. One of the most popular Ferraris of the era. And then a monster step up in performance.

The 599 GTO fits all those and it is a beast.

Your definition of base car seems a bit loose. Only the FIA thought that the GTO was a modified SWB and the 288 bore little commonality with the 308.
But then again there were those who bemoaned the use of GTO for the 288.
