    Hi all,

I have my '15 F12 in for service at my Ferrari dealer, and while the car was in line I ended up ordering iPE titanium Valvetronic mufflers for the car. The dealer agreed to install them but after the install they informed me that they will not hook-up the valves because that entails of "tapping into the ECM" and that doing so may cause camshaft position sensor failure.

Does anybody know if there is any merit to this? There are tons of F12's out there with this same exhaust + X-pipe, and the F12 exhaust is valved from factory, so I'm definitely puzzled here....any input would greatly be appreciated.

    Thank you for reading!

Looking at the install manual for the IPE valve system I suppose I can see their concern, but am not experienced enough to know whether it's warranted. It may be an issue of them not wanting to assume liability by installing it. The IPE system taps into the wires for the throttle position and crank speed sensors, not the ECU directly. It appears to take readings from these signal wires to control the valves. On some sensitive electronics having a new load tapped into the line can affect the signals if it's not designed correctly. I suppose if this was an issue it would have already cropped up on other IPE installs, but again I have no experience with it.
