I noticed on a thread in the 458 section that someone was at a factory tour yesterday and asked to see the f12 line and was told that they couldn't see it because it was shut down for maintenance. Does anyone know anything about this? My car has been delayed for months because of CF issues, triple layer paint, etc. and I had hoped it would hit production when the factory reopened in September, now I am thoroughly confused. Modus, supposedly has not been updated, and I have been stuck in red 10 since April. Help!

Triple layer paint cars are often delayed, and so are special CF options such as tinting. They are preparing production for the F12 VS.

Do you think that prep for the new model shuts down other f12 production?

Maybe the are building a few F12 GTO and want to keep them undercover.

You must be so frustrated. Starting to worry if my order ( submitted in June but still showing Status 00) will actually make to production. Mine was a Tailor Made car, so I sure hope so. Not the most transparent process, that's for sure. Wishing you good news soon!!!

It is frustrating, but as we both know, there is nothing I can do about it! Mine is not Tailor made, but might as well be with all the extracompanario that it has - triple layer plus a bunch of color cf. I hope to hear something soon when the dealer's computer ordering system starts functioning again. My best guess is that if I am lucky I will have it before the end of the year! Good luck to you on your's, too.

are they building all of the F12 vs or gtos in one model year if so that has to be close to the entire production capability of the f12 line.. assuming they build about 800 per year ...
or do you suppose they will build the VS/GTO in place of the FF allowing them to build the F12 and F12gto/Vs at the same time???

The F12 production line isn't shut down. The F12 of a friend started production in the beginning of September and was completed this week. The car will be at the dealer by the end of next week.
Because of production of the F12 VS they don't show the line.

I would say that they did not want people viewing the new F12 Speciale until it officially is launched on Thursday at Frankfurt.

    +1

I saw several people with "V12 Special/Limited Series Preview" visitor badges at the factory.

I would not expect a F12 GTO or Speciale Launch at the IAA.

went red 10 today after months of waiting for matte c/f to be sourced…doesn't mean production is starting but must be getting close….my dealer also has a "normal" F12 in code 40 which certainly indicates the 12 line is building cars….
