I was just finishing build on a new F12 and wanted to solicit opinions on "must have" options while attempting to contain costs and ultimately consider trade/resale.....i.e., is the lifter necessary for 1.6 inches at nearly $6K, LED steering wheel for $7K, carbon cup holder $3.5K?

    Musts:
    Front and rear cameras
    Parking sensors
    AFS
Premium stereo (this is a high $300k car after all)
    Steering wheel LEDs

    Strongly consider:
    Shields
CF interior bits, like driver zone, dash inserts
If in south...heat insulated windshield to protect leather dash

    Consider:
Extra leather and alcantera color options, all cost money but make a really nice car special and unique.
    Privacy glass give sharp look.

    Don't bother:
    CF engine stuff
    CF rear diffuser

Essential for wife... Additional 1.6" for $6K :)

I'm actually looking at ordering a new one or buying a used one, so for what its worth, personally I would only consider one which had the following:

    Shields

    LED Wheel

Carbon or leather wrapped air vents (not sure what they are called!) (leather wrapped ones I have seen in the FF, look classy if your not a huge Carbon fan)

For me the dash and the cup holder should match.

All rounder cameras and sensors. Dealer suggested the front camera a must as it sits lower than the 458.

Dash material and ideally colour should match. I saw one today at the dealer which had black top dash leather, cream lower dash leather and cream seats leather, all absolutely fine, however the central tunnel was black suede and it just didn't work, dealer agreed also.

A good colour combo, I personally think the F12 works best in darker colours, the deeper reds or darker greys or black so I would only consider these.

Embroidered horse in the same as the stitching, contrasting, i.e. not the same colour as the seat leather.

    Painted callipers.

Hope it helps, good luck :)

The way a few have dropped 100k for 2014 slightly used models, I'd be very very tempted to buy one and get instant gratification while saving a bunch of $$

That said, led wheel and shields if you order!

CF design details: already considered to be for Joe Sixpack by many due to how much fake CF you find on 20 year old Civics. For interior details I would rather look at Alcantera options, two color leather, contrast stitching.
LED steering wheel: Only useful for competition gearing, unless you plan to drive the living crap out of your F12 you can save it for your Xbox.
Lifter, some need it, most only think they need it. maybe better to have than not.

IMHO the must haves are shields, LED steering wheel, rear camera, rear parking sensors, painted calipers. The rest is up to you.

In my so far brief experience, musts:

    - LED steering wheel. If you're driving in manual, the RPMs fly up so fast that I feel like shift lights are almost a requirement.
    - Sports seats. Wouldn't buy a car with comfort/standard seats.

    Good to have:
    - Upgraded stereo, it's decent enough.
    - Front camera. Back up camera is a must, but it's standard on UK cars.
    - Front end lift - for peace of mind. The car isn't that low standard, I bet I could navigate around London just fine without front lift.

IMHO everything else is visual and doesn't change your experience much.
