If both cars were the same price, and someone gave you the money, would you buy an F12 or an F12TDF? If neither, If you could have any other Ferrari, what would it be?

Total no brainier Tdf of course. Can potter to the shops or ring its neck. Plus just LOOK at it. Is this a spoof post ?

Really? That's a bit of a bold statement.

I think this is a very valid point. I haven't driven a TdF, but most things I've seen and heard from those who have first hand experience, is that the Berlinetta is a better "daily/holiday" GT car.

    So in essence.

    Thrill machine? F12 TdF
Sports GT for everything else? F12 B

What I like about the TdF (And the GTO vs. the GTB for that matter) is that it separates itself from the Berlinetta as much as it does. By comparison, I think the Speciale is in many ways so close to the Italia that I think owning a Speciale renders ownership of an Italia somewhat needless. Not so with the TdF and that's how I think the VS cars should be.

Don't think it's a joke post. Just a very young boy and new user making conversation about Ferraris.

Very valid question..considering the posed question takes differential value out of the consideration...

Same price, same potential future value...likely would chose the F12.

More elegant exterior and interior and far more power than necessary.
More usable in an every day or long weekend away to the mountains sense.

I have a slightly different but mixed review, having been lucky enough to have all of these.

I DO agree that the "regular" vs. "VS" cars are different. In reality, I found our Speciale to be much closer to the 458 than we're finding the F12 to the TDF. the constant between both is the sound (as in, loudness....) due to insulation, glass, exhaust and likely tires.

The TDF feels like a completely different platform - my view is that the F12 vs. TDF is very sensitive to the weight reduction and the massive front tires make that car drive very differently. Couple that with the horsepower, chassis mods, et al and the car is a beast.

Having said that, the TDF seems like it would be doable as a GT car - not optimal, but not punitive. Sport with Bumpy, the road feel is quite good, the only element that might bother you on a long term drive is the noise, but cruising in 7th (at high US highway speeds) isn't too bad. We've done 1300 mile road trips in our Speciale and F12, not yet the TDF but do not anticipate pain. Of course, the F12 would be "nicer".....though that's why we kept the FF for exactly those reasons.

If I had the option, I'd have gone with the TDF.

I think it's a good question but naturally depends on the responses circumstances. Any other cars in the garage, any other Ferraris in the garage, how often would I use it, would I use it for long or short trips etc etc.

Overall, whilst the F12b is a sensational car, you would have to have the tdf on looks alone-in my view the best looking Ferrari since the 275 GTB. Furthermore, whilst you could possibly get bored with an F12b and always be hankering for the next evolution, from everything I hear, the sheer visceral nature of the tdf, probably the rawest expression of Ferrari DNA since the F40, will always be testing you.

TDF ......It's truly a bad boy sofisticated Italian hot rod in the original tradition of Ferrari. Overpowered, lightened, V12 hooligan. Best Ferrari I've owned and OMG reeeeeely faaaast!

Once you drive tdf, you can not go back to F12. But if one has to use it everyday, F12 is better choice.

    tdf is not everyday car.

Think of it in this way.

You can do daily with 911.

You might do daily with 911 gt3.

But you dont want to do daily with gt3 rs even though you can.

tdf is 10000 times worse than rs.

TDF not an everyday car? Who cares? If you have a TDF, you have other Ferraris that are everyday cars.

The TDF is unique and a beast! It's an event when you get into the TDF, not everyday is an event day, drive a different car.

Wow! Amazing that you could get a TDF without owning several other Ferraris. You must be a celebrity or really connected at Ferrari.

Not joking, honestly impressed as the TDF is very difficult to get in North America unless you currently own multiple Ferraris. Please excuse me, I didn't mean to imply anything negative.

Well then, I am not in US.
I had multiple ferraris before and most of them were v12s.
I had F12 and 2nd FF when I got the alocation for tdf.
I sold them all for lusso and f12m.

I am also currently waiting for my Lusso which should be built this month and am first on my dealers list for the F12M. We obviously have similar taste in Ferraris. Sorry again to have started this conversation with my poor communication.
