Hi Everyone, I recently had two warnings pop up on my 2015 F12 with 11,700mi. First warning was "catalytic converter temperature not plausible" and then it was followed by "Engine control system failure". I brought it into my local dealer and they said the problem was a faulty front right exhaust oxygen sensor and it will need to be replaced. They quoted $2,896 + tax. When I look at the part online it seems to be less than $200. Is the high cost just due to the labor in order to get to the O2 sensor. Thoughts on this quote? Appreciate the help!
You didn't give a break down of cost or the labor rate. They may have a reasonable markup on the part and the labor to get to it may be the reason. Ferrari tucks the O2s in hard to reach places sometimes. While I haven't done the O2 on an F12, I would not be surprised if it is very difficult to get to. Ask the shop, they may have a good reason.
Unfortunately, they now have the car, so you can't check for yourself Image Unavailable, Please Login How is cat temperature measured on the F12? I couldn't find a thermocouple listed in the parts manual.
I will ask them for a breakdown. What doesn’t make any sense to me is that they were going to charge me $2200 to completely swap both cats for Capristo sport cats. Could the labor to change one O2 sensor really be more than replacing both cats? will see what they say….
