Was wondering what the current market conditions are ? Plus any thoughts weather the F12 will follow the 599 resale patterns
My dealer estimates 18 months before delivery. So, placing an order about a year from now. I don't think it will do much to 599 values in the short run. There's not enough F12's out there to be an alternative choice for a 12 cylinder GT. 458 prices didn't really effect 430 prices. The economy did for sure, but even now F430 price are still pretty stable with a slight downward drift even as more and more used 458'***** the market. I think the 599 has had a good chunk of it's depreciation already.
I think a lot of the wait and premium. depend on where you are and who you are . My dealer has two guys that buy 10 cars per year they obviously will get their cars first if they do not already have them and will not pay a premium .... now I was told for me no premium and maybe 2 years..now regarding the resale in 6 years A 6 YEAR OLD F12 WILL be worth much less then it cost new so I expect they will follow a similar curve as the 599... However I bet for the next two years their will be zero depreciation other then the original premium.
My dealer just got the nations first F12 in.At my dealer not only are you up against guys who buy 5 0r 6 cars a year but all the guys who bought a FF in the last year and don't forget the guys who bought race cars through the dealership. I have been getting a new car about every 10 months and will have to wait atleast 1 year and maybe 2.
Ferrari will deliver many more F12s than there are mere mortals who can drive them to their potential. Wouldn't it be great if driving skills were factored in to the decision of who got one instead of who are the just best customers. I have no illusions that I have those skills. And I have seen some pretty scary moments when drivers were over their heads. Rant over.
Wouldn't that be wonderful? At minimum, a Ferrari Challenge participation or Ferrari Challenge/Evolution at Fiorano (or Mt Tremblant) graduation required for the entire 1st year of production. No more stupid accidents shown on youtube in that first year......
I am thinking of trading my 458 spider back for another one or an F12 Next car will be Ferrari #10 over the last 15 years.Paid premium to get the 2007 599 But will not do it again. The 599 dropped like a stone in resale value around 2 model years after launch I'm thinking this may be a typical pattern with Front engine V-12's. Where the actual market size is small but very desperate to get one.Soon as all that want one get it there's a cliff effect on resale - IMHO
From what I understand, allocations will be tight in the US to try to stop this pattern. But, I agree, the past is not a friend to this issue. There is risk here.
Absolutely. Scares the hell out of me too. But, practically all exotics got creamed from 2009 to 2011. The higher the price, the higher the creaming.
Going forward into an improving economy IMO the F12 will fair better than the 599 The million dollar question is How much better
Wow, that's a long time. So now that you traded your 458 spider in, what are you driving in the mean time?
