Still not getting any input from factory, but just had an experience which taught me how unreliable info is: I never got pictures of my Cali T - factory had wrong email, then was told it was completed. Next thing I knew it was on a boat on May 22....supposed to land June 22...,date came and went, last Monday heard it landed, and then yesterday got email from dealer that it was being unloaded at dealership. Morale to story? Maybe my F12 is further along than red 10, and the next thing I'll here is that it's done, extracompanario and all. Got my fingers crossed. That's Ferrari!
It's funny how some Ferrari practices don't seem to change much with time, despite all this new information technology which supposedly did away with the murky information flow of times past. In the summer of 1985 I ordered a new Testarossa from Hollywood Sport Cars. A year later, in mid August, 1986, I asked the dealer to find out the estimated delivery time. November - December '86, the factory informed the dealer. 10 days later the dealer called to tell me that the car had just been delivered to him. Chris Vandegriff, the dealer, wasn't particularly surprised. I was, because it was my first new Ferrari. About eleven years later, while waiting for my new 550 from Ogner, I was being kept informed weekly with messages that my car was on the truck to LA. Except it wasn't. Finally, after two months and two false messages, the car showed up at the dealer without any advance warning. By that time I was expecting this and enjoyed letting myself be surprised. Waiting for new Ferraris has always been worth it. All the misinformation is forgotten the moment you spot your car at the dealer, take possession and drive off in it.
