I read where very soon Ferrari is going to produce a modified version of the F12. ( Not the TDF ) Does it make sense to buy a used F12, 2014, with very low miles with an improved product coming out. Does anyone know when the new, modified version will be introduced? thanks in advance.
I am hearing 2018 legislation across USA and Europe will limit engines to 4 liters so likely any new F12 or replacement might be a V10 twin turbo, so I would say YES!
The F12 will follow the depreciation curve the same as other 12's like the 599, 575 etc. It is a great car and you will be unable to use all the power it develops. If the new model has more power you will not be able to use it either. I own a 599 and bought it new in '07 and have not made a move to change cars because it is just soooo fast and in my view beautiful. I would buy a 599 if I were you and enjoy it.
If it's still an F12 it would not matter to me. Everyone ups the game but as long as it's not a total overhaul who cares?
I just wish the factory would actually deliver my already-ordered F12 sometime before I die
Are you serious?! (I know you are- Im just using the expression). That is insane. Then having one of the latter cars of this caliber would be an extra nice thing to have. I hope Ferrari never abandons the V12.
They could make a 4L V12. Don't know how practical that would be. My dealer said the same thing about 2018 MY...4L displacement or less. F12M...that would only allow for the car to be built in 2017. Not enough cars for those that want one I suspect.
So most of you are saying do not wait for the so called F12M. buy the car now? Anyone know if there were any significant changes to the F12 model year 2014 over 2015?
If you are high up on your dealer allocation list, go for the M. My guess...production (time) will be limited...meaning fewer numbers to deliver. I mentioned the M to my dealer two days ago and he had not even heard about the car. I got my dealer's last F12 build to be delivered in September.
I just looked at your build sheet. Interesting. Do you know of any significant changes in a 2015 model year car over the 2014?
First deliveries are over a year away I would say depending on pecking order much longer. I would take a hard look at the pre-owned market. The MY doesn't matter if the spec, miles and condition are right for you. The good ones do sell quicker. Also, improved does not always equate to more desirable as we have learned. Good luck.
Buy both.... I just purchased a low mile 14. I'm not willing to pay $100k+ over sticker for a 'used' 18. I'm not high in the list so new @ msrp not possible. Currently you can get high msrp gently used @ $100k under sticker. New will sell $100 over sticker. $200k gap. Totally different acquisitions. Waiting till these sell to 'commoners' @ msrp puts you at late 18. I'm impatient.
Curious if you had a chance to drive it before you bought it? Have you ever driven a F12? If so can you give an opinion? thanks
Speaking for myself...no. I only have 458 driving experience. This video amongst other things was enough for me. How could you not love the car after watching this ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjp1xjOzJqY&feature=youtu.be
Thanks for the Video. It was great! Sure wish there was a way I could drive before I buy but I know, with some of these type of cars, that is not always possible. Buying on blind faith I guess.
Very important, especially resale. If you don't like them, they can be turned off in the car settings menu. From a performance driving perspective it gives you a heads up visual of when to shift w/o looking at the tach. It allows you more visual focus on the road ahead.
the original question should you buy a used F12 . If you can afford it . I think the F12 is a fantastic car very fast and easy to live with The topper for me is the sound due to the exhaust arrangement the F12 has an intoxicating sound far better then any V12 in recent history with the exception of the GTO and maybe theTDF sounds much better then 550, 575, or 599... SO get it while you can......
