Many of you know that the seat lever that controls the height in the CF seats fails by cracking. They are hard to get and it took 3 months for me to get a new one!

I'm making this thread to show my JOY!!!!

My dealer told me not to adjust the height of the seat when sitting on it, for this reason.

You do realize how ridiculous that sounds :p

Remember to not tie your shoes with your feet in them as well. You might break a shoe lace. ;)

I don’t ever remember even using mine and it is cracked. I must have looked at it funny or perhaps sneezed hard while in the seat. I asked the dealer about it and they told me on some cars, it comes from the factory already cracked! LOL. I said, well, I’f that’s the case then I’m not gonna worry about it until I have to.

    ...you know I should have!

Pics of the broken one that is still on the seat. I will replace it tomorrow. there was 1 crack when I noticed it...the last time I saw it, it had 2 cracks.....Now, it has 3 cracks! It still functional due to the main part that supports the mechanism is metal but the lever is now poking into the leather of the seat. I have the seat where I want it so I will set it and forget it!

    Suppose to be like this.....

...but it's like this. It's leaning or poking into the leather making a mark.

    Is it metal or plastic?

The center part is metal the rest is plastic...look like ABS as indicated. I haven't take the broken part off yet but I'm thinking of strengthening the circular area with epoxy resin if allowed and if the channels are not critical for the function of the part.
Also, I think it would help if you adjusted the seating position while out of the seat. I'm sure the weight of the driver contributes to the cracking issues.

Stew, does your 812 have the same issues? Are the race seats on the 812 made the same and have the same issues?

When you've got it replaced let me take a look at the broken one. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve for fixing silly little parts like that.

Took off the damaged lever. So, what I found out from looking at the damage is that the damage is done when the lever is moved laterally. I'm thinking when the person pulls it in or accidentally hits or kicks it into the seat. The metal ring bends taking the ABS plastic with it and it cracks. So, the question of not using it is not the solution. It will eventually crack by hitting the lever in.
The piece is still functional .... but it's an eye sore.

The void surrounding the metal piece is not critical to the function of the lever so I'm going to support the plastic by filling it in with JB weld plastic bonder. It should help somewhat.

Yep, it’s an option. Most get it when they do the race seats but not all

Ok, I have the electric rear adjustment but no height lever...
By luck I'm not so small (6,3') and it's ok for me, but my wife has hard times to see the road when in the F12! lol (she's 5,4')
