    hello all, been lurking for quite some time and thought I was ready to start looking for an f12. Finally sat in one today and given I have very long legs found the fit a bit tight. Has anyone tried the racing buckets as it looks like they would hopefully give me the extra inch or so i need to be comfortable.. thanks! shrews

    fwiw I have never sat in a sports car that had bigger seats (and more leg room) than an F12. Do you know what kind of seats the car had? As far as racing buckets go, as you may know they come in different sizes. I'm 6'1" and the F12 seems really comfortable from a seating standpoint however with size 13 shoes you have to be mindful of foot position on the brake pedal as the clearance above is just a bit limited but this hasn't been a huge issue.

    I am 6 -2 and have the racing seats. I had them in my 458. Imo they are the best seats Ferrari makes as far as comfort and fit.

    The racing seats are very comfortable, we have had them in every F-car other than the FF.

    While they do come in different sizes, to the best of my experience, the pedal-to-backrest distance (i.e. hip-to-foot) is maybe 1/2 inch more travel than the standard seat. The racing seats have a thinner backrest, but in the F12 (and 458) there is a lower rear bulkhead that limits rearward travel.

    The race seats are effectively lower than other seats and you can lower them. There is an optional (manual) seat lifter for the race seat (we had it), but it will boost you up; if you're tall you're better off without and putting the seat at it's lowest/lower settings.

    Bottom line - find an F12 with race seats and adjust it as best you can and see if you fit. The different seat sizes are primarily width, zero effect to legroom.

    I don't find the racing seats comfortable
    But I do have a few herniated discs

    Thanks for all the responses! Porsche 911 offers the most leg room of any sports car I have been in as it is a true rear engine car. I'm all legs -- 36" inseam. Usually i can lower the back of the seat and raise the front enough to compensate in most cars (lambo need not apply haha) Yes I noticed the rear bulkhead as the limiting factor. Going to drive the f12 with the standard seats today weather permitting. Its doable I'm just not sure its going to be comfortable for hours on end.

    So the hunt is on. I'm looking for an f12 WITH the carbon fibre racing seats. currently i've only found two on the market that are not black, (refuse to buy black) one is white and one is blu pozzi. If anyone knows of available cars in interesting colors please let me know, (just no black or basic silver) I'm hoping to close a deal within the week!

    I saw a Corsa Red car with "Stile" carbon fiber seats in San Diego. Very nice. Even has adjustment handles and an electric backrest adjustment. MSRP 410K. I am not sure but I think the car is spoken for.

    I suspect there won't be much of a difference. The racing seats are very good, but folks take some long rides on Texas, and if that's what you're going to do you'd be hard pressed to do better than the standard seats. On the other hand if you intend to primarily track the car the racing seats do add a bunch of lateral support.

    I guess I never found the F12 to be cramped, and I'm 6'2". But then again I've spent a lot of time in really small racers (Formula Fords, Lotus Elises/Exiges), so maybe I've just built up a tolerance!

    Yeah, at 6'4" I don't need the headroom or anything else, just the leg room, to put in perspective I couldn't even get my legs in an elise... My thoughts are with the CF seats and standard non-electric adjustments if its still too tight I can have my race shop build some brackets that will help me adjust the seating to accommodate my inseam. We did similar modifications on my Porsche gt3 with recaro fixed back racing buckets.... I put over 35k miles on that car daily driving it!

    Well its done! I bought the bianco italia f12 from Ferrari Long Island today, now the torturous wait of shipping it to Texas begins....

    Just an FYI for peace of mind I am 6'5 and have a 36 inch inseam and fit fine in my Italia with sport seats. With race seats and being a bit shorter you'll have no issues at all! Enjoy your Italia.

    post some pix of that bianco italia, i am about to order one....had a 458 in fuji bianco, but the Italia looks like it might be a deeper color.

    I've already put a thousand miles on the car so in a word it's fantastic! Has completely exceeded my expectations honestly. Very manageable around town and obviously a complete beast if you put your foot into it. The sound of the v12 is intoxicating to say the least and in the next couple of weeks we will install the novitec mufflers to add a bit more noise. I'm especially impressed with how the car doesn't beat you to death yet turns in and is really quite well balanced. I have a feeling this may become one if the higher mileage f12's in the country :)

    Congrats and the F12 really is an awesome car love the wheels on your car also might consider a capristo remote for the exhaust I added that on mine and I think it makes a very big difference .. either way best of luck..... give us a picture of the interior like to see how the racing seats look....

    Thread resurrection... Hi Shrews, I'm in a very similar position to you. Almost identical proportions / height. Had an F12 previously with comfort seats and had to sell it. After just an hour and a half I would end-up losing feeling in my legs. Zero under thigh support.

    Not being able to resist the lure of this engine, I'm now considering an 812 with race seats. Sat in one yesterday however still felt there wasn't enough support under my thighs with the rear of the seat all the way down.

    Did you end-up modifying the seat brackets on your F12 to get more 'front lift'? If so I'd be very grateful for some more info / pictures! If its possible to do then this could be a game-changer for me.

    Many people don't realize, that the F12 and 812 are using absolutely the same carbon seats, that can be found in the 458/488/F8 and the 430 Scuderia before that.

    I have the Carbon Racing seats in my 812 and my previous two Ferraris and are my preferred ones. However they are nowhere near as good as the ones fitted to the 599GTB which are in my opinion the very best car seats I've ever experienced. Perfect compromise between comfort and support in hard cornering. Why oh why did Ferrari stop using them I'll never know !
