new to the conversation, nothing sounds like a v12...........
For me it would be TdF no question. But the Senna looks like a track monster, good luck with your search!
TDF is forever. The Senna is a very cool track car, but there will be (probably already is) a better track car. So in my (very biaised) opinion, TDF without hesitation.
F12tdf: Beautiful. Senna: UGLY. F12tdf can hold it's own on track as well. In fact, it's a ton of fun. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lake Forest is my dealer, and I have seen that car. The window sticker is on it and that livery package was $175,000.
There are Sennas and Sennas though (obviously preferring ours…!). But, despite being a Senna owner, I also prefer the F12 TDF (don’t own one, have a Comp instead), but there’s no denying, the Senna is an incredible car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
With difficulty! The 812C shows its breeding and nobility with ease. The Senna is much more track-focused and a more serious piece of kit for track times. The engine is workaday and fairly gruff-toned with the Senna, a symphony with the Ferrari. On the other hand, the Senna is much more tied down in terms of handling, the Ferrari just plain exciting. Since they are both nominally track oriented cars I think it depends what you want from your track day. If you want to challenge your best lap times then Senna is your friend. If you want to come away from the track fizzing inside then 812C. Both brilliant cars. If I could only have one? 812C. I love Ferrari more than McLaren and I don’t have a TDF so I would miss having it in the garage. I’m actually pondering selling the Senna. I haven’t had it too long but there are so many Ferraris I have coming, including XX and hopefully a chance at F250. I’ve used the Senna a bit and had some fun so if I can get out of it ok then I will, otherwise I’ll keep it until the others arrive.
I’ve never been a fan of the Senna looks - but that was never the point . However , I love your specc - makes the already aggressive posture even more purposeful - is it a keeper for you for the track , or will it be replaced ( or joined by ) the XX??
Not sure yet. I may well sell it if I have to commit too much finance to taking up future Ferrari allocations. I can’t help it but I’m a Ferrari fan much more than McLaren. That’s not to take away from what an amazing car the Senna is, especially in our spec which I think is very tasteful and beautiful with the exposed carbon. I did put it up on collecting cars recently but the auction didn’t hit my reserve. Not the best time currently I guess but I won’t let it go for a price I would have thought was outstanding value when I bought it. Senna is such an emotive name and my favourite racing driver, also the favourite of my second favourite - Lewis Hamilton. And the car fits the name. I bought it thinking I would enjoy using it and in 10 years a lightweight, high aero, fully ICE car with a noble name should stand well. Then I had the chance to buy an immaculate LaFerrari which I didn’t want to refuse and all of a sudden my garage is a bit fuller than I wanted. I didn’t like the looks of the Senna when it first debuted. But other cars started to make sense of it, for example the GT3 with its wing-forward swan neck arrangement. Suddenly though, I began to appreciate certain angles and the car started to look purposeful, aggressive and mean. A certain kind of beautiful. When it first arrived in our garage, it was ultra impressive. Very focused, slats, scoops and wings everywhere. Arresting.
I owned senna #320 from spec to 4,500 miles, multiple track days and of course regular road driving. I am currently daily driving a 2020 812 SF. I recently sold the Senna and certainly may regret that down the line….but the SF is much more livable and the noise of the V12 is not to be comped to the droning of the TTv8. The senna is a track first type of car, produces real downforce, is super stable under braking and simply a track monster. I would say its front end is a little under tired…but the overall package is excellent on the track. The SF is much heavier and you feel it, the suspension moves much more and there is less braking under you. They are so very different in all aspects, it’s not really fair to directly compare the,, I’m sure the better would be the sf90xx vs the senna….
