Hi Guys. Just came back from a few roll races with some friends. It was simply impossible to get the f12 to hook so I was losing to cars with much less hp. From 50mph rolls, 600hp+ 991 turbo S and even 997.2 turbo S(on those new michelins) would pull away and it was difficult to reel them in even in higher speeds. The PDK is just so fast! the 997.2 turbo s and 991 turbo S were dead even so I assume the 997.2 had some 'work' done. No matter the mode there was traction issues with new pzeros and 16c outside temperature. I brought my 458 out to compare and it ended up being either even/ beating both(depending on who got the jump) but the consistency in the 458(michelin SS) just trumped the F12. I also noticed substantially faster gear changes in the 458. Could it be an issue with engine software where the car is running too rich and missing some hp? Or is it only traction related? Would the extra weight have such a dramatic effect? I believe the F12 carries 250kg more than the 911's. Up to 200 I honestly cannot feel the difference with the 458 and F12. What tire alternatives are available over the dated pzeros? Do the new michelins fit the f12?
Is the weight difference reall 250kg F12 to Turbo. I thought an F12 was supposed to be c 1630kg dry, so say 1730 wet - which would be maybe 50-70kg more than a Turbo? Re your question - you could try sports tyres ala Pilot Cup 2s or Trofeos
Too be honest: if you want to win a drag race against a AWD car, especially a quick 911 turbo with modified ECU, you have to be very experienced in drag racing to get all 740 ponies down to the ground. As F12Kid says, you need Michelin tires. At the right temperature they sticking very well on the tarmac. Bring them on operating temperature, switch your CT off, or at least race mode (but the car reduces power also with too much wheel spin) and you will catch up the 911. If you want to win for sure, put drag radials on. Your 458 must loose some bus length on higher speeds over 200 kph on the F12. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
+1 If you want a superfast car in a straight line (and, to be fair, also round a track!), a 911 Turbo is hard to beat...so easy to get more power out of it and other upgrades if that's your thing. One thing to remember though...there will always be someone faster. Turn up with a 800bhp 911 Turbo and same daft ****er will have a 1000bhp datsun. Turn up with a 1200bhp Veyron and there will be a Chiron pulling up. Pull up with a Chiron and lo-and-behold, a 1600bhp Datsun will embarrass you.
[emoji106] That's for sure. But even if the F12 runs only on 10 cylinders it still wins every sound competition ;-) I have a M760 V12 6,6L Bi-Turbo AWD with "only" 610 hp incoming. This car is heavy like a boat but I'm sure 0-60 mph the F12 will have a hard time due to the fact it's AWD with massive torque down low. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
Anyone know if the front 275's on the 812 superfast fit on the F12? The rears are the same so I am trying to change the tires to the new pilot sport 4s from Michelin.
