The price is a major point. If it came down to picking one to drive it would be the F12 any day. But for the money of the new viper I'd rather have a used Ferrari, any.

But will be nice to see what the viper can do.

I wonder if someone with more computing skills than me could post profile views of red 250 gto, f12, and new viper. To me the styling lineage goes gto to viper with the f12 left out by itself

F12 is 100x's better. Viper looks almost overstyled in the front.

Its not even close. The Viper, to my eyes, looks like its not sure what it is. Am I American Muscle? Italian Style, or Asian Performance? The styling looks confused and not cohesive. The interior materials look better but the general look of the interior is very blah. Yes, thats an industry term. I'm sure the Viper will deliver a great driving experience but its simply not for me.

The F12 is a cohesive design. I need to see it in person but I think its a home run.

Aventador is origami for experts. A flawed design hidden by a lot of lines and creases.

It is crazy when you think of it that way. Thing is, guys buying near half-million dollar cars don't have to use that math...lol. They probably have multiple cars, already. I agree with you though, I would rather have the Viper, Scuderia and CS (or a similar combination). Of course, the F12 could also work well as a daily driver, where the others are basically weekend cars.

Regarding the styling, I think the new Viper looks great. Faithful to the original, but more sophisticated. The interior is also well done, though it still looks like a tight fit. The F12 is the sleeker, more attractive and better balanced design, IMO, no question.

100% agreed. I was going to mention that an F12 buyer may not be interested in the other cars. Very different market segments. At least when compared directly.

That's not to say an F12 owner wouldn't want a viper/scud/CS though. I know a 599 owner that also has a Scud. Very much personally dependent.

This SRT Roadster speculative render looks nice. Those wheels look great. Front grill still looks awful. But I still prefer the F12 :)

+1 on "It's not even close"

First of all, the Viper looks like a warmed-over remake of its predecessor - which is probably what it is, despite the couple years' hiatus.

Secondly, it just looks so plasticky and is all over the place styling-wise.

Ah, but the 8C is gorgeous! A real homage to a past era, a simple unadorned form with an Italian flair. The F12 did not do badly by borrowing some of the rear end from the 8C.

    F12. No contest.

viper looks decent for an US domestic car, but doesn't look refined nor finished. cues of the original viper, but it also makes it look dated.

My comment on the price was simply to point out that the F12 should certainly be of higher quality, it wasn't meant as a comment regarding affordability. Fact is, lots of people can buck up for the Viper but can't touch the F12. If you can afford the F12, you can buy both. I'm not a fan of the styling but the Viper's performance should be epic. They are completely different cars from that standpoint. If I could only have one, I'd choose the F12. But, realistically, if I could pony up for the F12, I'd buy both. And a 911 GT2. And a V10 R8. And a California ... that way I'd have all the bases covered. Hell, throw in a Range Rover too while I'm at it.

Yeah the comparison is crazy. I do like the design of the new viper though. However the new F12 just looks amazing. I can't wait to see it in person.

I've always thought the viper had one goal: to try and kill you. This is due to the lack of technology and the big engine. They kept the big engine but have added a bunch of technology stuff. I'm pretty sure they had to and that's ok. You can turn that off and have it be a firebreathing animal again. But the look makes it appear more advanced and not as simple as it used to be and I like the old viper more because of it's simplicity and craziness.
This is just my opinion of what a viper should and what the new viper will be. Feel free to agree/disagree.

They both have their good and bad points.

F12 between the a pillar and wheel arch (front) is too long and looks off to me.

The Viper front looks too small/short needs bigger headlights to be in proportion.

However the rear 3/4 view of the Viper makes me tingle down there.

Overall Viper is much better looking.

Gen I/II Viper GTS is still one of the sexiest cars ever and the new Viper isn't as good as it is.
