Ok, here is the thing. There are many cars that I have loved. I have no interest in "status" or what something costs. So, from fast Fords to historic Ferrari 60's sports/racers. In that context, my statement for discussion is thus ... There is only one truly exciting car in production at the moment. That car is the F12.
OK, I wrote the above after a long dinner.... But I do kind of think it is the case. Apologies to Mp4-12 or 458 owners, great cars for sure.
I admit I' m too lazy to go back over multiple threads to find pricing but could anyone tell me what the list is approximately on an F12 reasonably spec out - just ball park - I can get an allocation and am starting to get that darn Ferrari urge again - thought I was over it but I guess you never do if you can afford them - old, new, or in between
635csi, I don't think it's possible to have a reasonable discussion about the question if the F12 is the only truly exciting car in production at the moment. All I can say is that I am sorry that you feel this way. raider1968, "reasonably spec'd" around USD 370.000.
To spec a reasonable f12 you're looking at probably 325. MSRP is 315 plus gas penalty. Daytona seats, some stitching, shields and you're done. Comes with electric seats, homelink, electric mirrors, Nav, and cruise standard.
I think that's like 18K. I like it (probably the best color for this car) but don't think it's worth it.
Pagani's cars are way more exciting. Like on another planet. Perhaps if you limit your field of interest to mass produced cars the F12 could be exciting.
I don't think Pagani's are legal in the US. Jay Leno had one on his show but it wasn't street legal -- so he didn't drive it.
None of the cars coming in now have a $325k msrp. Most are in the $365k+ range and many are over $400k.
You cannot legally drive a Pagani Zonda in the US. There are a few in the US but they are here under Show and Display titles. That is correct. However, the new car - Huayra is fully street legal in the USA and US deliveries will start late this year.
Doesn't mean much. My 458 spider came in at 315 and my dealer said most he put an order in were for 350+. People spend stupid money on options they don't need, won't use, and won't get back in resale. You absolutely can get a properly set up F12 for 325. No question.
Ferrari is expert at separating the car enthusiast from their money. Wonder if they will charge extra to delete the goofey winglets and the stripes from the 458S??? Very happy to have the Spider and not the money. It has brought me so much joy. Perhaps a tie would be the house we bought last year. Life is great. Life is good. Life is better driving a Ferrari. thanks to Ferrari for so much joy.
Thanks for the info - 'll see if this urge passes or I'll order thru Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale - don't know the wait but they treat me really well
The car is $320k delivered then $1,800 for shields which leaves you $3,200 to equip the car? How is $325k possible? Daytona Seats alone are $4k?
Exactly why I said around 370 for a nice spec. Interpretations of "reasonably spec'd" seem to differ.
I agree. $345k would be min base and then $370k for a nice car and then anything above that is more money than brains.....
Here is a sticker showing just a few options with an MSRP of $380k! If you look close, nothing seems crazy so I would say this most likely will be around the average price give or take $10k. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I do not think that picture of the interior of an F12 is the same of the sticker, that interior has racing seats and they are not daytona style, in the section of other options, can be passenger display or rear privacy window that each one are like 4k, etc, I spec one just to play and it came out to aproxx $345,000
