I see many news articles reporting this as 1:21:00, but I remember seeing that as the number for F12berlinetta (wikipedia still says so) and I found an article dated 2012 saying the same - What?s the fastest Ferrari at Fiorano? | Top Gear. But now the same source is quoting the same number for the F12tdf - The Ferrari F12 TDF is a 769bhp, track-ready, V12 maniac | Top Gear and some (New Ferrari F12tdf revealed with 770bhp | Autocar) insist also that it is 2s faster than the berlinetta. I don't remember seeing a lap time in any of Ferrari's material. What is going on?

I feel like 1m21s is the lap time for the berlinetta. If the tdf being 2s faster is true then either the tdf's time is 1m19s (faster than the LaF) or the berlinetta is 1m23s (same as 488 GTB).

F12 berlinetta lap time is 100% 1.23, reported from Ferrari and from many others since 2012
..same time of the 488...I wonder what the 488 scuderia will do :)

Every Ferrari that comes out is "the fastest Ferrari ever built". The numbers rarely represent the actual data. Lap time cars are modified and far from what stock cars will be like. I would really not judge off of the fiorano lap times.

Trusting Wikipedia is like trusting someone to be right, "just because they say they are". Anyone can post on that crap, true or false.

    Sad but very true.

If you compare one Ferrari with another Ferrari it does not matter, they are all doped.

So true. I drive my cars with a healthy dose of respect. For the car, for other road users and not unsurprisingly for my own well being.

My first car was an Alfasud Ti with 95 bhp. I loved that car and it was plenty quick. The 661 bhp today of my 599 GTO or thumping jaw-dropping punch when my F40's turbos are on full boost is slightly more fun than my old little Sud.

But I'm not a professional driver and never will be, even if I'm plenty quick round a circuit with an instructor. I'm not unhappy that my new TDF will have a lap time of 1.21. However I think the F40 was 1.29 something around Fiorano and which will be more fun, tough to call. The lap times are for bragging right and marketing puff. The cars are indeed plenty fast enough for 99% of us.

Yes. Most famous mag in Germany is SportAuto with a famous Supertest on the Nuerburgring Nordschleife.

    They measure power, camber etc.

Test car had Cup2 tires which are not allowed for the car and they used wider front tires ie. 265. (F12tdf 275...)

Stock camber front is 1 degree and there is no possibility with stock setup to increase camber. Would need to use shims.
Front camber for test has been 2 degrees, which makes perfect sense for the Cup2 to work.

The whole suspension alignment was far off stock values.

Engine Power 747 PS which is just a bit over stock 740 PS.
Would like to dyno a Stock F12, but there should not be too much room for improvement on n/a engine.

Test driver also had more laps than the usual 1 or 2 for this test. After his first Lap time Ferrari urged him to Do another Lap and showed him where to cut off time which was another 7 seconds.

All together is at least 10 seconds compared to stock F12.

    Is this fair?

At least Porsche is behaving differently and is still faster.
Nevertheless I enjoy my F12 on the Ring more than any current Porsche.

The standard F12 has quite a bit of bodyroll, I wonder if it's possible to add the TDF springs to get rid of it?

Seem you discovered the hot water. Any press car is optimized, the engine use are blue printed and this doesn't mean not stock.
    At least Porsche what ?
I have no time, check same pictures about wheel alignments and power of same porsche super test but I can provide same good other examples as well from VOLKSWAGEN Group.
(es. Lamborghini Huracan press car with Trofeo R)
Do you know them ? They deliver always what they promise. LOL

    Cheers

Ferrari engines usually develope more power than advertised. Every engine is put on the dyno and has to match or exceed the official figure in order to be installed in the car.
