Wow. The wings are so ugly on that thing. Hope it's fast, the world always forgives the styling on fast race cars
I'll second that opinion. I wonder if Bernie's going to ax that front wing "extension" like he did the "X-Wings" that showed up a few years ago on some cars at the Monaco GP because it's ugly... er, um, I mean "unsafe." Oh, wait its Ferrari. Carry on!
None of the new cars (Toyota, Sauber, MClaren,) have had anything that's looked like this. I'm sure they soon will though. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Saw the pics on F1-live. There's more there if you want to see. That wing isn't the prettiest solution...but if it works, fine. As a couple of others have said, the front wings on most of the new cars seem to have some odd adpatations (apparently within the rules concerning the area around the nose).
Looks hideous. They've really butchered the F2004 now... Hopefully the most use this aero device will get is in other teams' wind tunnels...
Hmm, it looks really vounerable to me. A slight hit on the curb, or in worst case a bit off offroading, would prppably finish off that extra litle wing in the middle. Even the bigger wings have in the recent times been flying off quite easily...
I think the rear wings have had more trouble, actually. At least recently. There is a ton of downforce back there and the struts to hold up the wing can't handle it. The front wings are held much more securely, so they have much less of a problem.
I have one of these. I'm very proud of it, because it's new and shiny and red. I asked for it for Christmas.
It does not matter how the racecar looks. F1 is not a beauty contest. The F2004M is only a temporary replacement for the new season untill the F2005 is launched.
looking at the testing times of the F2004-M compaired to BAR, Sauber, McLaren. It just might be another runaway season for Ferrari and they might not even have to release the F2005. Just my early season prediction.
