Just wanted to say thanks to all the posts here. I read a lot of them before selecting my 348 Spider from Bobileff Motors in San Diego. The buying experience was fair and Gary Bobileff has been great to work with to address some of the deferred maintenance on the car.

The 348 "Primer" is among the most detailed and informative articles available and well worth reading. My thanks to the author for all the effort that went into that project.

Enjoy the picture. I am enjoying the car at least once a week on the road and every day looking at it in the garage.

Congrats, and welcome! No Doubt put the primer together with lots of info from others on the board here. You should get together with Bullfighter, he is also in San Diego, and has a 328. Maybe he will like 348s better if you show him a nice one. :) Beautiful car BTW.

Congrats Mike. I was just over at Bobileff's this week to get a window switch straightened out on my 328. He seems like the guy for classic Ferrari's in San Diego, although I ended up buying from out of state to get the right car.

    Thanks,

The back and tan combo is very stunning. I know it is hard to keep it looking great though because I've had two previous black sports cars. Do you belong to the San Diego chapter of the FOC? If so, it will be good to meet you at one of the events.

Haven't joined the FOC yet, but I'm looking for events locally and plan on joining. I'm sure we'll meet.

Yes, black is hard to keep clean. This one's black metallic which is a bit easier, but definitely not as forgiving as red.

    Enjoy that car!

I'm buying a 94 348 Spider and it has Ansa exhaust on it. I'm thinking about switching to QuickSilver or Tubi. I want it to perform well and sound loud. Any thoughts on the subject?

The stock 348 spider exhaust is markedly better than the earlier 348 models.

The weak point is the stock cats.

If you aren't running Hyper-flow cats, then there is simply no need to pour money into your 348 exhaust (because the key bottleneck is in the cats).

Also, you can find your Ferrari 348 pre-purchase inspection checklist (and other useful tips) here: http://webpages.charter.net/aircover/348/1994Ferrari348Spider.html

That might save you some headaches.

good to know. I wont shell out the money for exhaust if it does not help.
I will put the 3k towards my TDF 360 fund. workin on it slowly. it's gettin there!

Awesome car. I wanted a black one but couldnt find one clean enough. If any of your friends are looking, my 348 is still somewhat on the market. Waiting till springtime in the North East to officially list it again.

Drive it and enjoy! Its a lot of fun!
