I saw that video earlier. The whole story of that car is sad, unfortunately.

I'm actually quite happy that car will live to see another day, and I'm curious if the spec he's looking at works out. The 355 is an excellent chassis. With 700hp and removal of all the nice-ities, I'd love to see what it can do.

This was owned by the YouTuber of "Hoovie's Garage" when it caught fire. $19K for what was left seems a little steep ( Hoovie subsequently bought a high mileage 348 ). With his discussions of what high heat does to aluminum and plastics I was wondering what it does to the steel subframe. Harder? Softer? More brittle? No change? It will be interesting to watch the rebuild. How he is going to cut out a large chunk of the main crossbar behind the gas tank and maintain structural integrity will be a challenge. Hopefully this is a labor of love, because I can't help thinking he's going to put $$$$ into it and countless hours and be left with a car worth $$.
