    Hello guys,

I need to replace my right hand side catalyst temperature control unit on my 5.2 berlinetta (#179278)
Not being very mechanically inclined,I would very much appreciate a step by step tutorial in order to locate and swap old failed unit with the new one. Pictures to help me would be wonderful.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Cheers from Paris.

Basically it's just two bolts and two electrical connectors:

The unit is located behind the RH tail lights (below the Secondary Air Pump).

I don't know if it's applicable to European cars, but there may be a third thermocouple ECU in that area. It's important that you don't get the two mixed up. Just confirm that the braided thermocouple wire is attached to the RH cat as shown.

Are you familiar with the aftermarket ECUs from Technistrada?

How did you confirm that the ECU was faulty?

Thank you for your answer and the drawing, helps to clarify location and connections.Does anything need to be removed at all for access? Should the swap be performed accessing from the top or bottom of the engine compartment?
Yes,I am familiar with technistrada's aftermarket ECU replacement. I plan to replace faulty OEM ECU with gothspeed upgrade unit,as I currently own two of these.
To confirm the ECU was faulty, after a check engine light and major power loss (half of the cylinder bank felt like it was missing) I remembered that left ECU failed a few years ago and was replaced. It seemed logical the right hand side ECU had failed as well,as we know they are fragile and poorly designed, probably why upgrades like technistrada's or gothspeed's units are popular.

I just looked at mine and it is possible to access it from the top if you have long arms (one hand only). It may also be possible from below, without removing anything. That's also a little awkward, but it is one of the easiest components in that area to access. You will probably need good lighting to see what you're doing.

The Technistrada ECU was relatively cheap, so I bought one for faultfinding (a little easier than swapping the units left to right).

    Thermocouples fail, too.
