    Hello all,

I'm sure this subject has been brought up before, but can anyone tell me why the batteries in the F355 & 360 go flat so often? I did a past posts search & really did not find any good info on this subject.

I just replaced the battery in my F355 with a red top Optima.
Purchased a "Battery Tender Plus" and it has been hooked up for 2 days now and the red charging light is still on...According to the instructions for use, the green light will illuminate when the battery is at full charge. I realize that at 1.5 amps it will take some time to charge...But, the Optima battery is less than a week from new. Could the source of a power drain, draw more power than the battery tender can replace?
What is the source of the power drain on these F cars? The alarm system?
Or some other Gremlin power thief? Any cures? I feel like I purchase a Honda Eco Electric car. :(

    TIA, Jati

I think you will find that most of us 355 owners - have the same unanswered question... But there seems to be a few little Gremlin Power eaters in the car - the alarm is one, the personality and mind of it's own chip are a few others :)

Could be a couple things....first, just because the battery is new, does not mean you received it fully charged (it may reach charge shortly, keep us posted/that is a discharged battery could take a few days to recharge at 1.25 amps per hours charge rate). Or, it is possible (unlikely) that you were sold a defective battery...or defective battery tender. I would be inclined to wait another day and see if it tops up. If not, try putting the battery tender on another battery and see how long it takes to reach charge. Generally, I will see a recently used/driven car battery reach full charge in anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple hours.

If either of those models has more than a 30 milliamp drain there is something wrong. Also the charging ability of so many 355's are so compromised that the batteries never get fully charged.

    Sounds like something is wrong.

When I plug the Batter Tender in to trickle my 348, the green light goes on not too long after (maybe a half hour or an hour). I charge it every day.

Again, something's not right. I hope one of our experts will chime in to give you more specific help.

I've never used the battery tender on my 360. Just drive it regularly.

Whaaat? You DRIVE your car? But then you put miles on it...and that depreciates it! And then you have to service it more....and, and.... I prefer to just go to the garage and look at my car (and watch it slowly rot).
